Familiar Face Returns

The Trenton Devils announced yesterday that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Stephen Wood.

The 26-year-old, who was part of the 2005 Kelly Cup championship team, set career highs in the '05-'06 season with seven goals and 21 assists to lead all Trenton defensemen with 28 points. In his rookie campaign, Wood was second among defensemen for the Titans with 17 points
(4g, 13a) and chipped in 10 points (4g, 6a) in 20 playoff games in the run to capturing the Kelly Cup.

Wood tallied eight goals and six assists in 25 games with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL last season, and totaled seven points (1g, 6a) while splitting time between the Peoria Rivermen and Bridgeport Soundtigers of the AHL. The fourth-year pro has made 84 career AHL appearances with Peoria, Bridgewater and the Philadelphia Phantoms.

The four-year letterman at Yale is the third player to officially sign with the T-Devils, joining center Tony Zancanaro and defenseman Matt Cohen.
