They provide the exact same programs for schools and community, as well as cyber patrols.

Please go to the web site and read. I hear they are a good group forming in out city, and from what I understand, it is all volunteer and donations.

Leave it to Coatesville to want to spend a lot of money planning ways to spend MORE money.

Maybe Coatesville should start looking within itself to get people involved with what has been proven effective over the years all over the world.

If Coatesville makes another budget, I hope they donate to the groups that are voluntarily taking matters into their own hands to help stop the stupidity that has run amok for all these years due to extreme lack of direction, and selfish leaders.

Unfortunately, programs for children, senior citizens, and at-risk individuals have to suffer for city corruption and mis-management. The City of Coatesville is indeed a sad place. Who will fund these much needed items? Individual donors are getting tired of constantly filling in the gap. Individual and corporate donations used to supplement public funds, but everything is going away for Coatesville.

You are invited to attend the Graduation of the Coatesville Guardian Angels. Curtis Sliwa the founder and myself will be on hand for any questions you may have and I will be available after the graduation away from the media if you would to meet and ask me any questions.

The Coatesville Chapter of Guardian Angels will be completing their training and graduating on June 28th, 1pm at 323 East Lincoln Highway
Coatesville, PA 19320

They have been training in self-defense, First Aid, C.P.R., hostile conflict resolution and patrol procedures too name a few. The training is a 12 week minimum course. There will be 8 members graduating. All of the graduates are members of the Coatesville community.

Missing point. The state Weed and Seed known locally ended June 30th. This latest application was for COMPETITIVE funding. In competitive funding, you win some and you lose some. The city administration has done a great job bringing Weed and Seed back from spring 08, when $0 were available and the very existence was at risk. Today, close to $400k is at work in Weed and Seed, with more applications in competitive funding either submitted or in waiting for award status. Other assistance TBA is on the way. Just come to the meetings.

Coatesville needs to have a better website so that we can check on things like this...

this blog sucks. now that there is no hated police chief to bash, and blame it's like there is no news for the blog.

if you're not going to maintain this blog, or take so long in between stories, why not take it down.

what's going on with the new chief ? how was he injured? has he passed his certification or was that waived too. etc. etc

DLN kept us well informed on Matthews, but not so much on Canale. What is going on with him. Just curious and we are as interested as we were before.

Chief Canale has knee problems from my understanding.

All one needs to do is look and see what has been happening lately. There have been more arrests (such as those two guys being taken in for smking a blunt, and ended up having guns and crack) which never would have taken place during the Matthews reign. We have MORE police now, and they are actually allowed to do things, like arrest people.

This being said, we have to understand that regardless of WHO is chief, their boss is still Harry Walker. This is where it really sucks, because if Harry doesn't want him doing something for whatever reason, he cannot do it unless he wants to lose his job. I feel that Canale would be better off not having to report to Harry, somehow. He is an intelligent officer with great potential. Let him run his department, with no interference from Walker!
