Two officers at retirement mark still on board

Two police officers hit their 20 year anniversary Sunday with the Coatesville Police Department meaning they are both eligible for retirement.

However, Lt. Julius Canale and Detective Martin Quinn haven't made any public announcements about an exit. And it appeared both officers were on the job this week.

If Quinn and Canale retired, the department would lose over 40 years of investigative and leadership experience adding to a list of experienced Coatesville officers who have already split to other departments in the region over the past year.

Meanwhile, the city is poised to hire several officers under a provisional process. Under the hiring process, which the city used once before, the new officers work for a six-month probationary period before administrators will hire them for permanent positions.

What about the two that just left and the other who put his notice in of leaving. Thats right three more exprienced officers are going to other departments. One to Downingtown, one to Pheonixville and another to Caln Twp.

Way to go Mathews you are doing what you were paid to do. Distrupt and destroy one of the best police departments the county "Had".
