Pizza Islands, Flat Tires, Pinatas, Oh My
I was hesitant because I was afraid West Chester wouldn't be gritty enough and that I would grow bored. I've been here for three nights now and I don't think that's going to be a problem. Although, if I were still living in the city things that have happened here wouldn't have happened.
My first night was relatively quiet, I was busy moving. Night number two saw me rejoin my old hockey team and take to the ice at Iceline. (Hockey is not like riding a bike and I sucked. But it's been a long time since I skated.) Night number three took me to the Pizza Island and Don Gabriel's. I love those places. There is so much character not only in the customers but also the staff. And it makes me glad I learned French and not Spanish. I also got to buy a 32 of Red Stripe, not easy to find, and change a tire on a car that didn't not belong to me -- left me with some nice scrapes on my hand too. And I had already been bloody from the hockey game. Tonight, night number four is taking me out with a friend for his birthday. Turns out there is a bar here that sells beer in big tubes. There's probably a technical term, but I don't know it. And I bought a pinata. When I take a picture, I'll post it. Any suggestions on what to put in it?
So, all in all, it's been a bloody and fun week. We'll see how the good ol' borough stacks up in the coming months.
