He's Having a Baby

Quite an interesting afternoon with Phillies pitchers today.

Their two most consistent starters this season, Joe Blanton and J.A. Happ, pitched out of the bullpen. Both are already finished, too.

Worse, Happ left after getting hit in the left knee by a line drive to the only batter he faced.

But Thursday afternoon's starting pitcher isn't even in the building.

Cole Hamels was rushed out of the park just after the fifth inning; he left in a cop car. Is Hamels in trouble?

Nah... his wife, Heidi Hamels, has gone into labor.

No word if the baby will be asked to pitch out of the pen in Game 3.

Hamels, by the way, allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings. Perhaps his mind was preoccupied.
