What specific proposal has actually been made on which one could begin to formulate an informed opinion?

I see Cassidy is raising private monies for his venture into railroading. For that, as a taxpayer I'm thankful.

Yes, a rail line to Philadelphia such as we had years ago with the Reading RR would be nice. That cost would probably be a lot less money that refurbishing the unused tracks and trestle from Phoenixville to Great Valley.

We should be pushing for reinstating what we had in the past.

What will we do once we reach Great Valley Corporate Center? Walk around the office buildings?

The last poster is right - if it drops people off at Atwater, unless they plan on kayaking across the quarry and walking up Rt. 29 on the shoulder, this stop would have limited usefulness unless there is Septa bus service to the rest of the GVCC.

It also has limited usefulness in terms of time savings - if I'm going to drive to Phoenixville to get on a train to Atwater, then get on a bus to get me to or near my office, I'm adding loads of time to my commute. It's only another 15 or 20 minute ride with my car to the GVCC from that point in Phoenixville.

Why would I spend possibly 30 - 45 minutes parking then waiting for a train and a bus?

But it would be a benefit to be able to take the train from Phx. (or even Atwater) to Paoli to get on the R5 to Philly, since it is a pain to try to find parking at the Main Line stations. This of course assumes there will be sufficient parking at the Phoenixville station.
