Pa. is popular
I was reading an article on Obama campaigning in Pennsylvania and learned Pa. is the 6th most populus state in the country. I hadn't realized this. Here's the breakdown of which states beat Pa. (as of July 1, 2007):
1. California
2. Texas
3. New York
4. Florida
5. Illinois
6. Pennsylvania
I never would have expected Ill. to be more populated than Pa. It's not by much, it seems, but a few hundred thousand is still a significant number. Interesting, nevertheless.

I don't think it's that surprising. Illinois has more square miles, not to mention Chicago is the 3rd most populated U.S. city (2.8 mill), which is more than Philadelphia (1.5 mill)and Pittsburgh (a little over 300,000)combined.
Like, wow, what a big state we live in. Maybe you should quit reading People or Cosmopolitan magazine and leaf through a geography textbook.
p.s. it's POPULOUS, not POPULUS
