A Plus Side of Traffic
When your sitting in traffic, its an opportunity to observe and admire the architectural details of some of the interesting buildings, particularly some of the older homes that were built close to the road before cars were even invented. At the time of their construction, the traffic was comprised of people in horsedrawn vehicles, or riding a horse, or walking. At that speed, a mobile observer could take the time to look, really look, at the homes and buildings along the way. It seems that builders knew this, and took the time to make the facades of structures truly interesting and varied. Sitting in traffic now, a hundred or more years later, we once again have the time to observe and appreciate.
