Soccer’s no crime
Ed, could you tell me why all the white cops just mess with the guys at Father Rocco’s Park? They happen to be African-American guys and all they are doing is playing soccer. Yet every day the cops harass them, but they can’t take care of crime on Calhoun Street, Stuyvesant Avenue and all those other crime-ridden streets. The cops are not over there; they are sitting and sleeping in their cars. ... I’m sitting here now listening to a cop who is disrespecting everybody, out here. Nobody is saying anything to him. He’s riding back and forth, just harassing, and it’s hot.

Actually, I'm having a hard time believing that African-American men in any significant number were playing soccer anywhere in the City.
Jeez, don't go there. Really. Can you honestly say you're an expert on what certain people were doing at all times in the city? Since when is soccer a race-specific game? Usually it is played by people just wanting to have a good time. Color of skin doesn't matter. Keep your outdated ideas in your head. Soccer is for all people.
Mr. Clean aka The Racist apparently doesn't understand the lure of soccer to many, many cultures outside of the USA where we put steriod users and dog killers up on the mantle for all to worship. Could it be that these so-called African-Americans are really from Jamaica? Or could it be that they are from Cameroon or the Ivory Coast -- both those counties did better than ours in years past at the World Cup. Stop narrow-minded approach and look AT the problem.

Actually, some of my best friends play soccer.
That you have friends is the biggest news of all. hey, Ed, how about getting one of your reporters to do a story on the fact that The Racist has friends that play soccer. I have friends that run marathons but it doesn't mean I understand it. And obviously The Racist has no clue about the soccer world. Oops, go get that white robe cleaned again. Looks like it got soiled up to your knees.
OK, since you're going there: Any "sport" whose greatest "star" sits out/barely plays his first games in a country where he's expected (not to mention PAID) to be the "sport's" Messiah because his ankle is sore (WAAAAAAAHHH!!!) IS NOT A SPORT.
