Trenton Basketball

Ed, I’m calling about the Trenton High School basketball program. It is slowly going down hill. I was a state finalist in the 1980s, we were ranked nationally. We need a coach like Greg Grant. Greg Grant knows Trenton High basketball.
Foul Shot
Well, they’re not ranked nationally, but they just beat Princeton and are 14th in The Trentonian’s rankings.—Ed. Note

Who cares about a Princeton win. That don't mean nothing to real THS fans or players. In the 80's we would be up 20 on a CVC team even before they walked in the gym. Randy Morrison and the admistration has let the program go to shame. THS Basketball use to be the toast of the town. And the talent is there to still be that...But we need a coaching change badly. Greg Grant would be the guy to put pride and traditon back into the program. Ed, name one kid in the past 15yrs that came out of Morrison's program that we could pick up a paper and read something positive about. Ed pls expose the tragedy that's going on with THS basketball program. Example: Lorenzo Freeman was player of the year in the county last year. Do you know this kid didn't even graduate high school. I don't know of any place in America that wouldn't jump at the opportunity to have an ex-NBA player coaching their HS Basketball team. Especially, with the way things are going at TCHS. Our kids need a role model like Greg Grant in their lives. Stop the destruction of our youth!!!

Ed, TCHS Boys Basketball program needs change. The man to give us that change is Greg Grant...Former TCHS/Trenton State star and EX-NBA player. With those credentials you would be able to coach at any needy HS program in America. But for some reason TCHS don't get it. Our program STINKS!!! And our city won't take advantage of the opportunity our kids could have with a coach like Greg Grant. Randy Morrison is a good guy. But he's not the coach TCHS program needs. He's had 15yrs to get it done. It hasn't happen now pls move on to what ever pasture he chooses.

Ed, Trenton High Loss to Neptune by 37 points in the ALLEY was a disgrace yesterday. I can't believe the coach can put a product like that on the floor in such an historic gym! Where is the pride and tradition that made this program in the 80's? Don't tell me it's the kids...They can learn as long as you have the patience to teach the game. We need Greg Grant at the helm to get our kids playing the game the right way and more important than anything preparing our athletes to go off to COLLEGE!

Hello Mom,

My problem is not with your son. It's about the program that's failing our sons. I totally apologize if my comment was received as a shot at Loreanzo. I was just using Zo as an example of how the kids are being used in the program that's not giving back to them or making sure that student comes before athlete in it's program. Can u honestly say that Zo got to college with the help of his TCHS coaches? I know for a fact they had nothing to do with his college opportunities. I know Lorenzo and care dearly about the kid. I've always supported him at The High and The Park. I'm glad to hear he's in college and I wish him the best.
