Blame the Firetruck
Ed, I don’t care what anyone says, it’s the dumb fireman who made a U-turn that caused that accident that killed that child on the highway. I have seen firemen in action, and they are not too bright. They run Ewing Township and they all think they are God. At the same time I am not exonerating the other driver either.

We don’t have enough information yet to know whether the operator of the firetruck was partly at fault for the tragedy. But your wholesale characterization of firefighters as stupid is incorrect and out of line.—Ed. Note

I begin my comment to say that even if it was just an accident, what happens next???
All of these Bloggers are placing blame on the Mayor, the Fire Truck, the Truck Driver, the Pedestrians, etc.......What really happened?
FIRST and foremost, the Fire Department should have looked out for there own safety before making a U-TURN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY.......that was reckless. If I was a driver and thought that maybe the fire truck was making a Right Turn instead of a dangerous U-Turn ON A highway. Then yeah I am at fault! But seriously, why would the Fire Department put their men at Risk like that. I have seen AMBULANCE DRIVING DOWN RT.29 AND HAVE TO GO AROUND BECAUSE OF THE RIVER LINE!!
SECOND: Yes, the Truck Driver should be punished for Not having a License......But ask yourself this.....If it was you and you know that your License was clean and the Fire Department is pinning this on you. How would you feel?
THIRD: How fast was that Fire Truck going that it made a U-turn in the Middle of the Highway, hit a pole and crashed into the Truck....HOW FAST??? So you all are saying that they took that Big Fire Truck and spun it around.......Out of Control!! They couldn't have made a U-Turn like that and still have control of the vehicle.
FOURTH..........Let's talk about this Path for Pedestrians!!! Where were they going??? EXACTLY TO THE ARENA!!!....Where is Sovereign Banks statement on this??
FIFTH: When are you all going to push to have a better Pathway for pedestrians, not just for Sovereign Bank but did you all forget that they have to Cross Route 29 for Trenton Thunder Games!!!! Yeah, when e someone gets their act together I would like the Trentonian to Publish the end results and a way to fix this so that no other families have to suffer.

" I am all for Supporting a Petition. Since the Trentionian has a lot of Coverage on this maybe they should be providing us with some directions. Where is the support group that got Santiago kidded out of office? Have they read the papers lately? Can they help us? Is this not important enough for them? How about Sovereign Bank Arena? Has the Trentonian gotten a statement from them? What are they going to do to help? Oh, yeah and we can't forget the Mercer Freeholders, or Jim Coston, cit council!! They help support the ARENA then they need to support the People in the City of Trenton!! "
As a teacher I take exception to having my pay raises questioned by the other paper. Are they aware that I work 180 days per year and 36 days of them are 1/2 days. Do you know that my day is 71/2 hours long with a 1 hour lunch. There are weeks off for xmas and spring, plus other holidays and they complain. What is the issue?
