Alleged shooter dies in hospital
An 89-year-old man who police said shot and killed his daughter Thursday during a dispute at their East Goshen home died Monday night from wounds inflicted when he turned the gun on himself, police said .
Westtown-East Goshen Det. Sgt. William Cahill said Donald Lutz, 89, died at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, where he had undergone surgery for his gunshot wound.
The Delaware County medical examiner will conduct an autopsy, Cahill said. After Lutz allegedly shot himself in front of officers, police found Lutz's daughter, Donna Marie Bennett, 54, dead in the dining room. She had been shot in the head, police said.
The gun involved in the incident was registered to Lutz, police said.
