On the state of the onion
USA! USA! USA! USA!
Man, I don't care who you were rooting for - you look me in the eye and tell me you aren't proud of your country for what it just did.
This is huge.

Congratulations Obama/Biden!!
Let's put this country back to work!!
I am no where near proud of who our country chose I would never of put through a man who went to a church who screamed GOD DAMN AMERICA and then said he never heard anything like that the 500 times he went there didnt believe him before and dont believe him now.. And I was an independent He is not the man we should of chose for the job to get done right.

You might have missed my point. I didn't mean the man himself (though honestly, and I think America's with me on this one: there was no contest).
I meant America's ability to say, "You know what? I don't give a damn about race anymore. I think this guy is better for the country, so I'm voting for him."
Of course, everything had to pretty much go to hell before that happened (the psychology of which it is way too late to begin exploring), but it happened. And nobody can make it un-happen.
I return to my original point: This is huge.
Yeah this is huge all we are talking about know is since he was elec. all the media is talking about is Oprah that actually helped him get in and a new puppy Come on lets get serious ..
So what are you saying rock and roller you chose him not because of the man he is but because of his race andyou actually thought he would unite people that's good to know..

So many people are so worried their money, about taxes and honestly I think Obama's mixed ethnicity... that they refuse to look at who he's surrounding himself with, the people he will have helping him with what he wants to accomplish, and what he plans on changing, for the youth, the middle class, seniors, and the future of this country. Whether anyone thinks he's the 'man for the job' or not, the majority voted and GAVE him the job... He represents the CHANGE this country came out to vote for and demand. He, himself represents a new novel in American history and its future. And besides, what was the other option? The same thing that has the economy in the crapper now? With upper class sitting with grins on their faces, living large while the entire rest of the country goes to war, and struggles??? Yeah.... Many people are resistant to change, in so many different aspects, but what normally happens is we adapt and realize, Yeah, this IS better than it originally was.... or would it just be better to do the same thing over and over.... Like me posting this response.... ;) again... lol
I so wish I could quote comments on here. Would make this easier.
first AoRR, Your point wasn't lost on me - I saw exactly what you were saying. And I was agreeing. And again you're right, there was NO contest but that's besides the point. It was nice to see America come out and color blindly cast their vote. Exit polling even showed that race didn't factor into peoples decision as much as age did. "Twice as many of those polled Tuesday said age was an important factor in their vote as those who said race was. Those who said race was an important factor voted 55 percent to 44 percent in favor of Obama. But Obama also was the winner by a similar margin among those who said race was not important"** It really shows how much Americans have grown up not only in the last 40 years since the height of the Civil Rights movement but just over the last decade. It really is HUGE!! Maybe in 20 years we will be able do the same with gay Americans as well but that's a whole 'nother topic!
I can't dignify a response to "anonymous" seeing as they cant even use a name when they post - what ya scared of hmm? Being called out on your total ignorance?
and mel - Really? From what I was able to decipher from your horribly worded and typo riddled post was that all you are doing is taking what you want to see from what is being said and running with it.
And ya know what else? I'm excited about the puppy too - so? :-P

Mel,
See Tracy's post above - I couldn't have said it better.
