Fall down the shore

So when the leaves turn color...the air is crisp and cool...what a better time to go to the shore?
Hey, why not. No traffic, no crowds, and you can take your dog on the beach. The surf was too rough for swimming, anyway.

I could not resist stopping by the arcade at Asbury Park, much of which has been demolished. What's left is rotting, though some new building materials seem to appear here and there.
This is a photo of window reflections in the merry-go-round building, which happily is still in semi-decent shape and was hosting a small farmer's market.

On the trail

A few photos from the local campaign trail this week:

McCain supporters wait in the fog to see their candidate

Secret Service on the job

It takes an amazing amount of gear to set up even a small rally, like the Hillary Clinton appearance at Graeme Park in Horsham

Behind the crowd, it's just another day at the historic Graeme Park

old tech

I've always liked the idea of old technology used to do new things...like old 1920's-era typewriters used as computer keyboards in the movie 'Brazil' or those iconic 1950's Philco Predicta TV's that have been fitted with modern color tubes and electronics by some gadgeteers.

So something caught my attetion - this week's New Yorker cover that was created by graphic artist Bob Staake. Gizmodo claims that he used a Mac running OS 7 and Photoshop 3.0 (1991 technology) to create it, and watching this video I can believe it.

Something shiny

A little bit of fun with a Cadillac at the Rocktoberfest in Hatfield this weekend...

A self-portrait, sort of...

And a Chevy truck...

Head gear

Every time I see one of these headsets on a coach, I wonder...is this really a good ad for Motorola? I mean, can't they make these things smaller?
