American beauties
They're big, heavy, expensive, and not very fuel efficient. But for those who love their classic cars, there is no other way to get around. And every weekend from spring to fall, you can find these proud owners showing off their machines in shows large and small, each with it's own personality.
The Foulkeways community in Lower Gwynedd hosted a small show Saturday. Small, but high in quality with a terrific selection showcasing America's golden age of manufacturing from the 1930's to the early 1960's. When I cover car shows for the newspaper, I generally photograph people sitting in, looking at or reflected in the chrome of the cars on display. But almost compulsively I also take many extra photos of just the cars - details of shapes, reflections, curves, lines, colors.

Never a home game
The Road Warriors is a minor league baseball team that played the Camden Riversharks Wednesday evening at Campbell's Field. It was an away game for them; in fact ALL their games are away games. You see, the indepdendent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball needed to even out the number of teams in each of their two divisons, so they created the Road Warriors as a travel-only team with no stadium, no clubhouse, no city to call their own. They journey through New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania and play without ever enjoying the cheer of a crowd when they score a run or turn a double play.
They are not the best in this 8-team league, but are holding their own in the mid-low range of the standings. Next year the league is merging with another in Maryland, and will no longer need this nomadic team. Perhaps the Road Warriors will find a home there, or simply split up and play in front of the cheering fans in the hometown stadiums of their former opponents.

Just wrong
There is an item in Monday's Soundoff (item #2, "Senior Citizens Should be Exempt" that is so wrong for two reasons...
First, renters DO pay taxes, through their rent. They pay the landlord, the landlord pays property taxes like the rest of us. Think about it.
Second, and most importantly, the blatantly racist comments about ethnic families have no place in this community or this newspaper. It's the sort of garbage you hear once in a while uttered by the uninformed and undereducated, and one can only hope that this attitude will fall away with the next generation.
