Graffiti in other places

Hey, Ed, I moved back to Trenton-Lawrence from Southern California a few years back. In both Los Angeles and Orange counties, they had a graffiti removal program meant to thwart gang writing. When you came across graffiti, you called a 1-800 hotline and reported it. Within 24-48 hours a crew came out and removed it with power-washing, sandblasting or painting. The gangs couldn‘t make a lasting mark and eventually gave up marking up that site.
Hotline
Trenton is supposed to have some GraffitiBusters contraption, but it hasn‘t been seen lately — maybe the cost of gas is keeping it on the sidelines.

Alright, enough! Already i've had it! Ruining this city is grafitti! Only now something will be done about it! Now is the time for action! Is it me or do residents care less about this city? Sometimes it makes you wonder! A lot can be done! But many people just want to complain! I know it's easy to sit back and think someone else will take care of it! Getting off your duff comes first! Home is where our pride should be! Or else you have no respect for yourself! Maybe I was brought up different? Only time will tell.

Maybe you've got a point there. Understand this. Regardless of where you live or where you work. Remember that we're all in this together. Anyway, we applaud this reader. Yes, it's not easy. It's an uphill battle. Sometimes you can't always win the battle. All you can do is hang in there for the war. Doesn't it seem like pride has gone out the window? Or else people stopped caring? Understand that times change and people change. Change is natural. Hopefully everyone can get on the same page here. Everyone stands to improve with better results.

Just so you know. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. Leave no doubt about it. Even people who don't vote have rights to opinions. Nasty words won't get the job done. I can vouch for that. Can't we all agree that we all need to work together? Hopefully, the answer is yes. And then great changes can come to this city. Since everyone seems to have answers, what are some other questions? Are blacks and whites in the city going to work together? Love each other, my brothers and sisters! I love all of you! May we all love each other and find greatness amongst us! Perhaps then, we will see the light. Doesn't that sound wonderful? Indeed it does!!! Can we affect change? Keep hope alive, my beautiful brothers and sisters!!!!

Please! Until enough people get together to work together nothing will get done. Suppose a group did get together. Suppose we could make a change, wouldn't we do it? Yet everything stays the same. Because you say you want change doesn't mean it will happen. Over and over again we hear it. You might mean well. But it won't get done. I wish the city would get better. Let me be the first to say that! Less talk, more action! Maybe the best is to come. Use the will and power of action to force it. Reach out and make a difference! Real difference! As soon as you do that, everyone can work together! Yesterday is past, work for today!
