Reality check

Ed, white people gotta wake up. Gangs live in Hamilton. You don’t have to bring them over from Trenton. You’re living in a stupid world where you think you are better than everyone else. This is why we’re in the condition we’re in today. White folks gotta get their heads out of the sand. You have problems, too: gang problems, drug problems, and more. So get a hold of your problems and stop saying that somebody’s chasing gangs from Trenton to Hamilton. Are you for real?
Alarm Clock
If you can’t blame Trenton for all your problems, whom can you blame?—Ed. Note

Dear Alarm clock. Although you touched on several important facts, I'd like to reinerate. I've been employed at the Youth House for twelve years. I can tell you that Hamilton residents would be surprised to find out that a large percentage of our detainees consist of youths from Hamilton Township. These kids carry charges identical to many of the kids in Trenton. Many Hamilton Township youth have long standing records of offenses such as, drugs, gang affiliation offenses, assault, weapons, car theft, robberies as well as teenage prostitution. These crimes are being committed regardless of their financial status. Some of these crimes are committed just to see if they can get away with them. In my position there is no difference whatsoever in crimes committed in Trenton versus crimes committed in Hamilton. Hamilton residents may find it difficult to admit that their perceived tranquil neighborhoods are not beyond these issues, but I assure this way of thinking is unrealist at best. What most people don't comprehend is that an address doesn't change the obvious. Crime is everywhere, no place is immune to it. Yet to try and explain or blame Hamilton crime statistics on Trenton is just plain unfair. Reaction to crime is a by product at my place of employment, and believe me no one needs to come from Trenton for crimes to be committed in Hamilton. While the elections are quickly approaching and crime is the predominant issue, residents should not allow the politicians to play the game of telling them simply what they want to hear. They should tell the voters that Hamilton Township has its own share of crime and Mayor Gilmore will work on cleaning up their crime. His excuse to blame it on Trenton, simply means he can't clean up his own backyard.

Update, since the Trentonian is slow reporting some sticky issues at times, read this one. I just read in the Trenton times that just last evening Hamilton had two more incidences of teen crime, car theft, and robbery. How that for blaming everything on Trenton.Get real people, alarm clock speaks the truth.
