Bill Serves Landlords
Ed, people need to know about Bill A1628 coming before the state Assembly. I don’t see a lot of chatter about it in the papers. It would allow landlords to install water meters in apartments to record water usage by the month. This idea has been floating around for a while. It’s another way to tap the residents of the city of Trenton in their pockets. If they are supposed to encourage water conservation by the tenants, why don’t the landlords install water-saving showerheads or fix the leaking faucet in my sink?
Drained Out
Damn landlords.—Ed. Note

And this serves to do what? Put more money in the pockets of slum landlords. Immediately they will raise the rents and continue to do nothing about the apartments their charging a fortune for. Palmer said years ago that the city was going to come down on slum landlords regarding property upkeep. Nonetheless, all the tenants get is addition expense while the slum lords continue to get paid. So much for a Palmer promise.
