Private Dancer

Ed, Does anyone in Trenton remember the Dart Tavern? That place has been knocked down now. There was a dancer named Gena who used to change behind a screen, like an old vaudeville act. I often wonder what happened to her.
Where’s Gena?
Gena, come out, come out wherever you are.—Ed. Note

I am not sure about gina but gloria and beatrice were relatives of mine and have pictures from those days. My mom grew up on lexington street and I remember the Dart being there.

I think that was the Fabulous Moolah, the woman's pro wrestler.

You bet I remember!

Only her name was spelled "Jzenna" (in the classic tradition of stripper names).

She was a class act, an intelligent woman to talk to, who in the mid-70s, when she performed at the Dart, was a graduate student at Trenton State, or so she told us.

She brought creativity and humor to her craft. Her best bit: dancing to the old Sam the Sham song "Little Red Riding Hood," wearing a g-string and bra trimmed with lamb's wool.

The Dart was owned and run by a guy named Joe Hornung.
