Ed, I would like to respond to “The Pits.” My wife and I adopted a four-month-old dog from Pet Rescue of Mercer. He is a pit bull named Barney. Barney is the most loving and gentle dog we have ever owned. You do not need special skills to own a pit bull or any other dog. You just need to give the dog a lot of love and a good home. Sounds like you’re not ready for a dog ... maybe you should get a goldfish.
