Big Two Points for T-Devils

The T-Devils came away with a win, 2-0 over Wheeling, in their final game of the road trip to start the new year. They ended the trip just 2-4-1, but more importanlty, earned a valuable two points over division-rival Wheeling. Every game against Johnstown and Wheeling should be circled on the schedule because these are the games that will determine if the T-Devils are going to make the playoffs.

Dave Caruso made 30 saves to record his second shutout of the season (his first coming against Johnstown on Dec. 27, 2007). Matt Rogers recorded both goals in the win. Caruso also recorded an assist on the first goal.

With the win, Trenton stays two points up on the Chiefs; however, Johnstown still has a game at hand over the T-Devils. If the Chiefs win their game at end, the two teams will be tied in the standings with 41 points, but Trenton would land in the sixth spot because they have less wins. It looks like Trenton, Johnstown and Wheeling will be battling the rest of the way for that fifth spot to get a play-in series against the fourth place team in the division. Right now it trails the fourth place team, Dayton, by 10 points.
