The Road to HersheyPark Stadium
It all starts Friday.
All of Delaware County's high school football teams (with exception to the newcomer, Episcopal Academy) will kick off their seasons Friday night, with the hope of getting to the state championship game - whether that's played at HersheyPark Stadium, pictured, or elsewhere.
For more on the upcoming season, pick up a copy of Thursday's
Daily Times. In there you'll find:
- Complete schedules for every team
- Team-by-team breakdowns
- A cover story on the county's changing football landscape
- And much more.
Trust us, it'll be well worth the 75 cents.

Football season on the way
If you've been out to a football practice recently, there's a good chance a
Daily Times reporter was there, too.
Our high school sports staff has been out and about lately, preparing for the opening weekend of the football season. Our
annual football preview section comes out the day of most season openers, Friday, Aug. 29, so keep an eye out for that.
A couple of questions that await answers:
- How will the Catholic League perform in the PIAA?
- How will the Inter-Ac adjust its scheduling without CL teams available?
- Is there a diamond (like five-star Matt Barkley, right, from California) in the rough in our own backyard? Barkley is the nation's top recruit this year, and you never know who will emerge from our area.
- Can Ridley and Garnet Valley make deep trips into the PIAA playoffs once more?
All of this, and more, will be written about in our football preview. Stay tuned - football season is right around the corner.

Is it autumn already?
Welcome back to Gettin' Schooled. If you're a newcomer, thanks for checking in and come back for more throughout the year. If you're an oldhead, well, you know the drill.
I've taken a couple months off from blogging - to enjoy my first summer in Delco covering the amateur baseball schedule and the local softball scene - but it's almost time for the fall sports season to kick off.
Be sure to bookmark Gettin' Schooled, your spot for the latest in high school sports news in Delaware County.
