This is a funny spoof on why you should vote Republican.

Guess Who's Coming To The R.N.C.?

Political rap-rock giants Rage Against the Machine will give a rare performance at Target Center in Minneapolis on Sept. 3, which not so coincidentally is the same week as the Republican National Convention in St. Paul. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. for $60.

Target Center's news release for the concert makes no mention of any political overtones, but fans know to expect plenty of verbal fireworks. Rage guitarist Tom Morello has already committed to perform with country-rocker Steve Earle at a union rally Sept. 1 at St. Paul's Harriet Island, the first day of the convention. The band has lashed out at the Bush administration at other shows this year, including last weekend's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago. Morello expressed interest this summer in performing during both party conventions.

Now this will makes things in St. Paul very interesting. Rage does have a tendancy to douse a fire with gasoline so I am sure they will only fuel the protests that will be taking place.

Only in California

A pickup truck thief lost his purloined Chevy Silverado to an armed carjacker during a 7-Eleven stop. Police Cmdr. Kelly McMillin said "you couldn't make up something stranger than this."

A 33-year-old man told police he stole the pickup Saturday then, while sitting outside a convenience store, a man with a gun hopped in and ordered him to start driving.

The pickup ran out of gas and the gunman ordered him to get out and push, but the man managed to run away and call police.

Police spotted the pickup on Sunday and the gunman was arrested after a brief chase and crash.

If this isn't charma coming back to bite you, I don't know what is. The funny part is the guy admitting to the police that the vehicle he had stolen was stolen from him.
