Mr. Walker,
I pay taxes in this town (too much if you ask me) and I vote.
I cannot understand why you have aproblem with the DA's plan?
What kind of fool wouldNOT want the city safer and more attractive to new residents and businesses?
Please, if someone is willing to help, give them the chance.
Wasted taxpayer money? I don't think so. Not near as much as that Hummer cost our city to buy, repair and maintain, nor as much as two new chargers would cost us!

Well I agree with you in the sense that the DA's help should be welcomed since Harry Walker , City Council and the police Chief have done nothing to reduce crime in the City accept talk about allot of initiatives which never come to fruition. But the other things you are completely wrong about and you can rest assure that you tax money did not pay for the Hummer or those new Chargers. First the Hummer was purchased from Military surplus for next to nothing and ALL of the work was done for FREE by kind people and generous businesses that wanted to help out with a great project. Second, the two new Chargers that you speak of cost less than the usual Fords which the City has been purchasing, or not purchasing for years. The police department did not receive new vehicles for 4 years prior to the new Chargers being purchased, thanks to Lt. Canale. Allot of research went into finding out that not only did those new cars cost less to purchase but they are more economical to maintain so you should do a little research before you make statements......Just a thought. But again I agree that we should be welcoming Mr. Carroll and his ideas with open arms.

I have hesitated to comment for a long time hoping the police department would attempt to fight crime. Police without a leader don't function. The person impersonating the chief of police has a unwritten no contact policy with the officers, when it comes to engaging criminals. The officers drive around and burn gas, deployed with the idea they are the ambassadors of good will. What B/S.
I know, I'm one of them. Drug dealers can deal drugs, armed juveniles can rob mexican and food stores at will. There is no plan to combat such activity because the police aren't given the opportunity to engage. As it could end up with these criminals getting injured or killed, what a shame! It would have the community crying about how the poor youth of Coatesville are being mistreated. Not how the residents of Coatesville can't accept responsibility for any thing they do.
Can anybody stop the crime, sure give the police department a chance to engage without the social worker with the title of chief interfering? The residents cried out for cameras to be put there after the fires, not knowing there already there. I know there out there, but the so called chief who doesn't have a clue about the legal right to the expectation of privacy and its legal requirements, left the residents hanging. It just so happens there is a camera 100 yards from the fleetwood street fire. But it’s useless as the chief forbids anyone from using them.
Hopefully Coatesville will hire a real cop as chief, not one who is concerned with the feelings of city council and there criminal relatives.
