What's On This Weekend: Galactica is Backtica!
Yeah, I couldn't resist putting it that way! And how 'bout this one -- Thank Frakkin' God!!
After a looooooong wait, the most successful show in Sci-Fi Channel history, Battlestar Galactica is back tonight at 10!! And for those of you who watch, you know what I mean. It was June when we last saw the Galacticans, exiting the starship, finally making it to earth. Only to find that earth was not what they had hoped, left in nuclear ruin.
The show returns with its last 10 episodes, and promises we'll see what happens to the characters when their one dream has been hopelessly shattered.
*SPOILERS*
Admiral Adama's already reeling from the news that his trusted pal Saul is a Cylon and takes it the hardest and finds solace in booze. His son Lee steps in to take charge. Nuts girl Starbuck must face the possibility that she's the "harbinger of death" as prophesied by the Hybrid. And the final Cylon will be unmasked early on in one of the upcoming episodes. Be warned, exec-producer Ron Moore tells TV Guide, "The revelation itself doesn't answer every question." ... like we expected it to?
Personally, I'm a bigger fan of the original '70s series. I like my Cylons all chrome and shiny, with one red eye pulsing back and forth, and that voice *shivers* -- "By Your Command"

On Sunday, those wacky housewives on Wisteria Lane will time travel yet again, this time back to its first five years on Desparate Housewives (ABC, 9 pm).
*SPOILERS*
The show will open on the day its ghostly narrator, Mary Alice Young, killed herself, which was the opening scene of the series' premiere episode. It will use flashbacks and new scenes to go back even before the pilot to show each woman's development. Promising to reveal how Gabrielle started being so selfish; how Bree's business career began' when Lynette gave up the idea of a full-time career; and why Susan went from being idealistic to a little cynical about love.
Hope it's better than the other new episodes so far ...

Showtime offers up a new 1/2 hour comedy(?) Sunday night at 10. Produced by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody (screenwriter, Juno) and starring Toni Collete, The United States of Tara, will deal with multiple personalities with humor. Is that possible? I guess I'll have to check it out and see.

Have a Great Weekend!
Oh, I almost forgot -- Go EAGLES!!! Sunday 3 p.m. the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Arizona Cardinals for the NFC Championship on Fox!!
One last thing -- I watched CSI last night, and I must have missed something. Since it hasn't aired since before Christmas, can someone fill in the blanks and tell me when/where did Grissom actually announce he was leaving and did he give any reason??
*SPOILERS*
I did, however, like very much the way they ended the show. I call it the "George Clooney ending", you know, when Julianna Marguilies left ER and ended the show walking out on the dock to some guy standing at the end ... and when said guy turns around it's -- George Clooney, and everyone watching was all "aaawwwww!"
Yeah, the CSI ending had pretty much the same effect on me!
