What's On This Weekend: Galactica is Backtica!
Yeah, I couldn't resist putting it that way! And how 'bout this one -- Thank Frakkin' God!!After a looooooong wait, the most successful show in Sci-Fi Channel history, Battlestar Galactica is back tonight at 10!! And for those of you who watch, you know what I mean. It was June when we last saw the Galacticans, exiting the starship, finally making it to earth. Only to find that earth was not what they had hoped, left in nuclear ruin. The show returns with its last 10 episodes, and promises we'll see what happens to the characters when their one dream has been hopelessly shattered. *SPOILERS*Admiral Adama's already reeling from the news that his trusted pal Saul is a Cylon and takes it the hardest and finds solace in booze. His son Lee steps in to take charge. Nuts girl Starbuck must face the possibility that she's the "harbinger of death" as prophesied by the Hybrid. And the final Cylon will be unmasked early on in one of the upcoming episodes. Be warned, exec-producer Ron Moore tells TV Guide, "The revelation itself doesn't answer every question." ... like we expected it to?Personally, I'm a bigger fan of the original '70s series. I like my Cylons all chrome and shiny, with one red eye pulsing back and forth, and that voice *shivers* -- "By Your Command"For info visit http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/On Sunday, those wacky housewives on Wisteria Lane will time travel yet again, this time back to its first five years on Desparate Housewives (ABC, 9 pm). *SPOILERS*The show will open on the day its ghostly narrator, Mary Alice Young, killed herself, which was the opening scene of the series' premiere episode. It will use flashbacks and new scenes to go back even before the pilot to show each woman's development. Promising to reveal how Gabrielle started being so selfish; how Bree's business career began' when Lynette gave up the idea of a full-time career; and why Susan went from being idealistic to a little cynical about love. Hope it's better than the other new episodes so far ...For info visit http://abc.go.com/primetime/desperate/index?pn=indexHBO's polygamist hit drama Big Love returns Sunday at 9 pm also. Tune in and see how Bill and his wives deal with the latest family crisis. For info visit http://www.hbo.com/biglove/HGTV debuts a new season of its most popular show, House Hunters, at 9 pm Sunday also. For info visit http://www.hgtv.com/house-hunters/show/index.htmlDon't forget to keep entering that Dream Home competition!! http://www.hgtv.com/dream-home/index.htmlShowtime offers up a new 1/2 hour comedy(?) Sunday night at 10. Produced by Academy Award winner Diablo Cody (screenwriter, Juno) and starring Toni Collete, The United States of Tara, will deal with multiple personalities with humor. Is that possible? I guess I'll have to check it out and see. For info visit http://www.hgtv.com/dream-home/index.htmlAnd, of course, if there's nothing else you find interesting Sunday night, you can always head on over to VH1 for all new trainwreck-guaranteed episodes of Confessions of a Teen Idol (8) and Brett Michael's Rock of Love Bus (9). Sunday 3 p.m. the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Arizona Cardinals for the NFC Championship on Fox!!One last thing -- I watched CSI last night, and I must have missed something. Since it hasn't aired since before Christmas, can someone fill in the blanks and tell me when/where did Grissom actually announce he was leaving and did he give any reason??*SPOILERS*I did, however, like very much the way they ended the show. I call it the "George Clooney ending", you know, when Julianna Marguilies left ER and ended the show walking out on the dock to some guy standing at the end ... and when said guy turns around it's -- George Clooney, and everyone watching was all "aaawwwww!" Yeah, the CSI ending had pretty much the same effect on me! Labels: Battlestar Galactica, Desperate Housewives

Survivor Recap, Twilight Update
The Slingshot Golf ChallengeSurvivor Recap: Things are getting dirty in Gabon, and I don't mean the lack of showers! Tonight's episode picked up on Night 24, right after last week's Tribal Council, which saw original Onion Alliance member Marcus go packing and become the first member of the jury.Back at camp, Susie praised Ken for orchestrating Marcus' departure. Which prompted Ken to gush with pride, "So far, the last two Tribal Councils I've been to ...they've been blindsides because ... because of me." Bob's worried about being next.Gabon's mastermind Ken?On Day 25, the tribe's met up for their reward and Fang found out that Marcus was gone. Alliance member Corinne was visibly upset, saying Marcus didn't deserve to go. "Then who does deserve to go?" Ken asked?Charlie, another member of Marcus' alliance, was devastated. Not sure if it was for his alliance loss or because of his crush on Marcus. The reward challenge had the tribe's playing slingshot golf to achive the gift of a visit to a Gabonese tribe for another overnight stay that would offer dancing and a feast. It all came down to the last "hole," and Randy freaked out on Matty, barking orders about how far to stretch the slingshot (they were literally standing over the target). Matty was visibly irritated, and shushed Randy. Matty and Randy start arguing back and forth, and Matty finally listens to Randy and drops the ball in the sandpit, winning reward for Fang.Fang decided to send Bob to Exile Island and went off to their reward.Back at Kota, Ken gets hung up on a stick in the river, and can't help patting himself on the back for the great job he's doing running the game. (At this point I was convinced that Ken would be going home, since they usually feature the player that's going home on their last episode.) On Exile Island, Bob finds all the clues, but no immunity idol (because Sugar already has it). So the physics professor decided to craft his own "idol" to see if he can fool anyone with it (and does a pretty good job, I must say). Tribe's are given a hint to the immunity challenge involving starting a fire. Randy, still sour from the previous challenge, turns his anger toward his nemesis Crystal, whom he nicknames "sasquatch."Randy's Nemesis, CrystalWhen they arrive for the challenge, Jeff tells everyone that it is an individual immunity challenge and to "drop their buffs, you are no longer two tribes." Hooray, it's merge time! The survivors get ready for the challenge and it's off to a slow start. Each has a knife and flint to make fire. Susie's the first to get a fire going, followed shortly after by Sugar. It's not long before their fires are growing in height, in order to burn thru a rope, thus ending the challenge. Susie wins easily, as no one else is able to get a fire started. And this is when it gets really interesting ... from here on to the finale should be great. I don't like any of these people, and now they're all turning on each other. It makes for great TV!On the way back to to the Kota camp, where they will live now and come up with a new tribe name, Randy vows not to return to camp after Tribal Council with Crystal, "She'll be gone or I'll be gone!"After enjoying their first meal together, the tribe members quickly break into groups. Charlie, Corinne, Bob and Randy decide to get rid of Crystal (big surprise). While Matty, Susie, Crystal and Ken single out Corinne. Sugar is the obvious swing vote.Corinne sucks up to Sugar, but still can't stand her, "she's such a moron." While Ken convinces the others that Charlie is the real mastermind of Kota. In reality, Ken just wants Charlie gone for taking the clue to the hidden immunity idol away from him at the Tribe Switch Feast on last week's episode. "I'll trade the idol for his life. Serves him right," Ken said. The tribe manages to come up with Nobag for their new name.At a very vocal Tribal Council, Randy's still ticked about the argument at the reward challenge. Crystal interrupts and wants to know why Randy has issues with her (oh no she didn't!). Randy has no problem telling her, saying she and GC ran Fang like it was their gang. He also accuses her of making his life hell and for being the reason that Fang lost nearly every challenge! And then the voting began, with Randy casting his vote for Crystal, saying "See ya Bitch!" Sugar was the last to cast her vote with tears in her eyes ... everyone voted as planned, with Sugar casting the deciding ballot against Charlie! Stupid move Sugar ... it will come back to bite you later. In his departure interview, Charlie gushed that at least now he'll be in the Jury Hous with Marcus. How sweet -- only Marcus isn't gay Charlie!Sorry, Charlie!Next week's preview had everyone talking about Randy, who seems to be even further in the deep end, literally, skinny dipping again. For info or to watch visit http://www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor/
Hottie Pattinson
Last night the Plaza at King of Prussia was overrun with tweens and their moms, waiting for a chance to catch a glimpse of their Twilight idol, Edward Cullen, aka Robert Pattinson. The British actor was on hand to sign autographs for those lucky enough to get one of 500 wristbands. A short (I think about 10 minutes) Q&A followed in the mall's concourse, but according to videos posted on youtube, like his other appearances, the screaming was so overwhelming you couldn't hear the man speak. And the film doesn't even open till Nov. 21.
Here's a link to Fox's interview with the handsome star http://www.myfoxphilly.com/myfox/
For more Twilight, check out MTV's new show Spoilers tonight at 7:30 p.m. Pattinson, co-star Kristen Stewart, and other actors from the film were on hand live last week at the Los Angeles taping, which promises to include 15 minutes of clips from Twilight.

Also, pick up a copy of Sunday's Mercury for an interview with the vampire. The USA Weekend magazine in The Mercury Sunday features an article and pull-out poster of the movie as well.
The Hollywood Reporter reports today that Summit Entertainment is giving the greenlight to Twilight sequels New Moon and Eclipse, and that screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg has already been asked with scripting them.

Weekend Watch: Tonight the Disney channel presents The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl at 9 p.m., featuring Taylor Lautner - yeah, another shout out to Twilight. Lautner plays Jacob Black in Twilight, a pivotal character in the second and third books.
Lautner as Jacob Black
Saturday on HBO is the debut of Ricky Gervais: Out of England at 9 p.m. The original Office creator and Bitish comic performs in New York City.
Elsewhere Saturday, the Hallmark Channel debuts an original movie The Accidental Friendship. It features Chandra Wilson (Grey's Anatomy's awesome Dr. Bailey) as a homeless woman who forms an unlikely friendship with some unfortunate canines and a local police officer who helps change her life. I'm a total sucker for dog movies!
Sunday night, the Desperate Housewives over on Wisteria Lane get caught in a nightclub fire! Last year it was the tornado, now this - maybe they should change neighborhoods! Anyway, somebody isn't supposed to survive - will it be Edie's creepy husband (who appears to be behind the fire), or Lilly Tomlin, who plays Mrs. McCluskey's sister (I mean, really, how many episodes do you think she really signed for?) Airs at 9 p.m. on ABC.
And don't forget Star Wars fans!! Sunday night at 11:30 p.m. the Cartoon Network presents Robot Chicken: Star Wars Pt. 2!
In other news: It's curtains for NBC's Lipstick Jungle and My Own Worst Enemy. The network isn't ordering any more new episodes. I should've saw this coming when they unceremoniously moved Jungle to 10 p.m. Fridays. Oh well, I guess I don't have to watch that anymore. To bad for Christian Slater, though. Oh, who am I kidding, like I ever watched My Own Worst Enemy ...
Have a Great Weekend. I'll be off celebrating my B-day on Monday, so I probably won't be back blogging till Tuesday. Enjoy!

Weekend Wrap-up, Amazing Race, vampires and more
Amazing Race's Ken & TinaWell, the Amazing Race got off to a fierce start this week, with bro/sis team Nick and Starr facing off at the Pit Stop with divorcees Kelly and Christy. The divorcees called out Starr, after dating couple Aja and Ty told them that Starr asked them to U-turn K&C during the last leg of the race. Although Starr attempted to mend the situation, it ended with Christy saying, "If you want to play the game like that, we are not going to be nice to you, so don't try to fix it. You don't even know what you just opened." Ummm could there be a nasty catfight ahead?Teams departed the Pit Stop in the order they arrived and received their clue instructing them to fly to Auckland, New Zealand (host Phil Keoghan's homeland). Despite departing at different times, they all ended up on the same flight. That's one of the things I love about the Race, you can think you've got a head start and then, you all end up at the airport waiting hours for the same flight. On the way to get their first clue in New Zealand, Aja & Ty suffered a tire blow out, that took them out for a lot of time ... the next clue for the racers included a Fast Forward. The Fast Forward is a task that only one couple can perform, once finished, that couple skips all other challenges and heads right to the Pit Stop (pretty much guaranteeing first place for that leg). Of course, the super competitive separated couple Ken & Tina got there first and had to climb to the top of the Auckland Skytower (they're way braver than me). The rest of the teams had to get thru a Roadblock that involved native Maori warriors and find the Travelocity Gnomes that were placed throughout the city, before making their way to the Pit Stop. By the way, I just love mom/son team Toni & Dallas, I'm rooting for them all the way!Ken & Tina arrived first and were greeted by Phil's dad, who welcomed them to New Zealand. Unfortunately southern belles Marisa and Brooke were the last team to arrive and were eliminated from the race. Stay tuned folks, there hasn't been a non-elimination leg yet, so it should be coming up soon.Bye Bye Marisa & BrookeFor more info on or to watch the Amazing Race visit http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/
Over on Wisteria Lane (ABC), the Desperate Housewives went about their boring business. I gotta say, if it weren't for my coworkers still watching this show, I would give it up. But I don't want to be left out of the conversation ... Anyway, the only thing interesting so far this season is the mysterious Dave - Edie's new husband - who has obvious anger issues.Hats off to my coworker Sharon (our own Disney Diva), who surmised after the first episode that Dave is probably stalking Fairview because he's possibly the husband and father of the lady and child that got killed in the accident with Susan and Mike ... it's starting to look that way, don't you think?I will definitely be tuning in next week, however, after seeing the preview. Apparently that's when we're going to get the flashbacks that will let us in on all that happened during that five-year gap between seasons. For more on this show visit

Bill & Sookie
Things got all hot and steamy in Bon Temps, La., last night on HBO's vampire drama True Blood. The show opened up with a vamptastic love scene between vamp Bill Compton and his love interest Sookie Stackhouse. There's a reason this show's on HBO, and last night illustrated it really well. Tune in for the first couple of minutes at least ...The rest of the ep dealt with the town's response to the two bite marks on Sookie's neck (a result of the vampire love-making). Kinda hard to hide in a small town ... And Sookie's bro went to the vamp bar Fangtasia to try and get his fix of V (vampire blood), which included an all too brief cameo of the superhot vamp leader Eric. Why can't they build the show around this guy? It would be so much more interesting!
Oh, and there was that side story involving Bill killing Sookie's uncle after she told him he molested her as a child, and vigilantes burning the home of Bill's former mates, killing them too. Let the games begin ...

SNL was all the rage Saturday night because of a well publicized visit from Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin. But I though Mark Wahlberg stole the show!In the opening scene, show creator Lorne Michaels is showing Palin around the set, and Wahlberg comes up looking for Andy Samberg (who recently dissed Wahlberg in a sketch about talking to animals). "Do I have to bash your head in too Lorne, because I will," Wahlberg said after asking for the SNL regular. "Third dressing room on the right," Michaels replied in his best Dr. Evil voice.Wahlberg eventually caught up with Samberg backstage later in the show in a hilarious spoof of Samberg's sketch. Way to go Mark!To watch visit http://www.hulu.com/watch/39813/saturday-night-live-mark-wahlberg-backstage
Tonight begins a week-long event over on HGTV. House Hunters International Week will air a new episode of the popular show every night at 10 p.m. The original House Hunters will also air new shows each night at 9 p.m. House Hunters is undoubtedly one of HGTV's most popular shows. It features people who are looking for a new home. Three properties are shown throughout the 1/2 hour show, with the people choosing one at the end. The show goes back after a few months and you get to see how everyone settled into their new abode. Explaining this show doesn't do it justice here. If you've ever watched it, you know, it's addictive.Anyway, HH International features people who are moving to another country and looking for a home. Check it out - you won't be sorry. For info visit http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/shows_hhint
Sci-Fi Channel continues its Monday night LOST minithons tonight with the end of Season 1: The Greater Good, Born to Run and Exodus: Parts I & II, beginning at 7 p.m.
Two and a Half Men
And congratulations to CBS' Two and a Half Men for continuing to be TV's top-rated sitcom! This brilliant little nugget averaged 14.6 million viewers last Monday. Two and a Half Men airs at 9 p.m. Mondays, just a half hour after my fave sitcome Big Bang Theory, which averaged 9.4 million last week. Good job guys!In between these two great shows, is another, and How I Met Your Mother features the spontaneous wedding between Ted and Stella tonight (8:30). Or will it, according to NBC, their exes just happen to destroy what was to be the happiest day of their lives. Tune in ...
I didn't watch last week's Grey's Anatomy, I'm totally fed up with the same storylines, and apparently, a lot of you didn't watch either. Ratings for the "hit" show dropped again to roughly 14.5 million viewers (it averaged 18 million last season), and was again slaughtered by the CSI team on CBS (19.2 million). Following Grey's, Life on Mars dropped around 2 million viewers from last week's premiere and finished third behind CBS' Eleventh Hour and NBC's ER.
And another show on tonight (which I'm still trying to catch up on DVD), Fox's Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been picked up for a full season. This can't be good news for Buffy creator Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, which was being tooled for the 8 p.m. time slot in January to be followed by Jack Bauer's 24 ...
And as long as it's Monday, close to Halloween, and we're talking vampires, I gotta give a shut out to one of my faves ... this week's TV Guide Countdown is for TV's sexiest undead creatures - vampires, demons and zombies! While Supernatural's Dean Winchester makes the cut at No. 3, I couldn't agree more with their No. 1 choice - Angel! Or Angelis, as I prefer him ... the handsome David Boreanz heated up the small screen as the 270-year-old bloodsucking beau of Buffy, Sunnydale's famous slayer. As quoted from the mag, "Tall, dark and deadly never looked so good." Yeah, baby!Angel
And, now you know, I can't get all vamped up without mentioning my newest fave - yes, that's right, just another chance to add a photo of Edward Cullen to this blog. Only a month left till Twilight dazzles the big screen and things are getting hot over here! Or how about a link to the film's trailer? http://www.twilightthemovie.com/

As predicted, comedian Jeffrey Ross was sent packing during Dancing with the Stars second night of celebrity hoofing. The sound you have heard around 9:50 p.m. last night was millions of men turning off their TVs in response. That's because Ross' partner was the gorgeous, scantily-clothed Edyta Slawinska, a male fan favorite! Alas, that's the down side of America's favorite dance show, even if you don't like the "celebrity," the pros have developed their own strong fan-bases, and there are more men (claiming to be forced to watch by their wives) watching the hot young female dancers than you think!Tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC, the Dancing marathon continues for another hour and yet another celebrity will trade their dancing shoes for walking shoes. In other Dancing news: Celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito, who improved greatly in last night's peformance, has an upcoming serieso n A&E. Rocco Gets Real will premiere Oct. 4. By the way, Monday's season premiere of DWTS averaged 21.3 million viewers to help ABC deliver its most-watched season-opening Monday since 1999.
Last night Fox offered up another intriguing episode of their new hit Fringe. The pattern and Massive Dynamics involvement have furthered the conspiracy. And I'm happy to pass on to you that last week's season premiere of Fox's proven hit House was just what the doctor ordered ... improving Fringe's (which follows House) ratings by over 4 million. According to TV Guide Fringe's primere garnered 9.1 million viewers and was up last week to 13.3, retaining 90 percent of House's audience. This is good news indeed. And speaking of Fringe, don't you just love the way Fox let's you know, prior to every commercial break, how many seconds till Fringe returns! That really does come in handy. Kudos to Fox.Haven't caught up on 90210 from last night yet ... although I can report that according to the NY Post, the CW has given a full-season order for the show. Whether they return for next season is anyone's guess at this point.I have to tell you, Monday night while I was watching the LOST marathon, the Sci-Fi channel spent a lot of commercial time promoting a new series starting Friday, Oct. 3, at 9 p.m. Described in TV Guide as "A forensice psychiatrist follows the trail of an unusual boy who fled from a crime scene, and encounters a doctor with a unique proposition," Sanctuary looks pretty cool. You might want to save a space in your Friday night viewing ... http://www.scifi.com/sanctuaryAnd speaking of TV Guide, there's a pretty great article on Desperate Housewives new season in the Sept. 29-Oct. 5 edition, out now. There are lots of spoilers, but what I found most interesting was a sidebar on the show's creator Marc Cherry. In it, Cherry admits the inspiration for this season's 5-year jump forward came from the Season 3 finale of .... ready -- LOST!For those of you who don't watch, during the last 5 minutes of the Season 3 finale, the audience found out that all the "flashbacks" we saw for those past 2 hours, were actually "flashforwards" and Jack and Kate were actually off the island!According to Cherry, "Everyone on my staff was talking about it (LOST). The critics were rapturous. The fans were apparently ecstatic. This left me jealous and intrigued. I wasn't sure exactly what they'd done (I don't watch LOST, mostly because don't have the time, a little bit because I know it's so good, I'd just resent it), but I got the brilliance of it all. And I decided I had to make a bold move with my show."On TV tonight: Well, I have a bit of a dilemma, there are 3 shows all on at the same tonight that I want to see. All at 10 p.m. What will I do? I'll, of course, by starting with Project Runway on Bravo at 9 p.m. According to http://bloggingprojectrunway.blogspot.com/ on tonight's episode, Tim Gunn promises us "the most unique show Project Runway has ever seen" as our five remaining designers battle it out in Rock N' Runway for a chance at the S5 crown. With an expected major model shake-up in the cards, the drama quotient should be high. And we'll all be keeping an eye on the runway's newest bitch, Kenley, who over the last 2 weeks has gone from fan-favorite to villian! Who will she belittle tonight? And following Runway at 10 p.m. I have to stay tuned for Top Design. While a tried to watch this show last season (its debut), I couldn't stand respected designer and show host Todd Oldham. Yes, I'm a fan of his designs, but his hosting abilities left something to be desired ...Anyway, tonight's guest judge is none other than our favorite obsessive-compulsive house flipper, Flipping Out's Jeff Lewis! I absolutely can't wait. The promos for tonight's ep have Jeff saying "I thought the show was called Top Design, not over-the-top-design!"For more information on Top Design, visit http://www.bravotv.com/Top_Design/season/2/index.phpFor information on Flippin Out and Jeff Lewis visit http://www.bravotv.com/Flipping_Out/season/2/index.phpAlso at 10 p.m. NBC's premiering Season 2 of Lipstick Jungle. I like this show, primarily because it was created by Candace Bushnell, creator of one of my all time faves, Sex and the City. While I wouldn't go as far as to say it's as good, it's held my interest. Tonight's premiere finds star Brooke Shields' character a high-powered film studio exec, dealing with a visit from her mother, played Mary Tyler Moore (might be worth watching just for that). For more info, click here http://www.nbc.com/Lipstick_Jungle/And, of course, the show I'll actually watch at 10 p.m. (while taping the other two) will be FX's Sons of Anarchy. I'm liking this one more each week! For info visit

Weekend Watch
OK, so I was planning on blogging about one of my favorite guilty pleasures today, Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, but that will just have to wait until next week.As I blogged yesterday, The History Channel had a special program on last night called "102 Minutes That Changed America." It was a first person account in real time of the events of September 11 and it was all too compelling to turn off. And being the compulsive channel-hopper that I am, that's saying something. If you missed it, you can catch some clips of the show on the channel's website at www.history.com, but I couldn't find the whole show there. I also searched their schedule for more air-dates, but it doesn't look like they're planning on re-running it. It'll probably show up on DVD next week. I'll let you know ... it's definitely worth watching. Watching it took me back, like it all just happened. I, like all of you, remember exactly where I was when I first noticed what was happening. My usual routine getting ready for work in the morning then was to have the TV on one of the morning shows, muted, so I could listen to Howard Stern on the radio. I was running late when I glanced at the set and saw the World Trade Center on fire. Turning the volume up, I soon learned that they were speculating the a small plane had hit the North Tower. At the time, everyone figured it was a small single engine plane, like the one that had hit the Empire State Building a few years back.I called into the newsroom to let someone know I was going to be late (not too many people are in that early), and also said, "you might want to put the TV on, a plane just hit the World Trade Center." I got to work just in time to see the second plane hit. Little by little, as they arrived at The Mercury, everyone in the building made their way over to the newsroom and the only TV set. We watched in horror with the rest of the country as the buildings burned. No one could've ever predicted the outcome. When the South Tower collapsed, we mostly only saw the debris cloud, not realizing what had happened. But it was impossible to miss the collapse of the North Tower, with a camera trained on its antenna-topped summit. Usually a hard-core group of newspeople, as we have here, is a little desensitized when it comes to tragedy. We see it all, day after day, and their first instincts are to get the story. But not that day, everyone just stood around dumb-struck and heart-broken. What had just happened was completely unfathomable. A phone call to a coworker from a friend who worked in Washington, D.C., where the Pentagon had also been attacked, finally broke up the crowd. It was time to get the story, but it took days for things to get back to normal.Weekend Watch: Ok, so I'm really not planning on blogging over the weekend, unless something effects me strongly enough. My weekends are mostly for catching up on DVDs, but I do have a few favorites that I don't miss. Like E! televion's The Soup, airing tonight at 10 p.m. and various other times over the weekend. Joel McHale and his merry crew sarcastically offer up clips of various reality/talk shows moments, so you don't have to spend the time watching them. I never miss it!I also indulge in BBC America over the weekend. Saturday nights at 9 p.m. is the sci-fi hit Primeval, about scientists gathering up prehistoric beasts that fall thru a time-traveling rift. Yeah, I know, it's sounds kind of cheesy, but I like it. Of course, it doesn't compare to BBC's new version of Doctor Who or my absolutely fave Torchwood (John Barrowman, I love you). In case you haven't guessed it from my profile, I'm a sci-fi geek.Sunday nights at 10 p.m. is the controversial Skins, about British teens run amok, think Dawson's Creek with drugs and sex. Yes, they're aloud to get more raunchy in the BBC than we are here on TV. It's deliciously wicked. Information about any of these shows can be found at http://www.bbcamerica.com/Back on this side of the pond, CNBC is supposed to be airing The Apprentice: UK at 8 p.m. Saturday night. As a fan of the American version of the Apprentice, I might have to check this out.And for those of you interested, ABC will be re-airing last season's Desperate Housewives 2-hr. finale at 9 p.m. You know the one where everything flashes ahead five years at the end. Can't wait to see next week's season debut and how they explain that. Overall I think it's a good idea, the housewives' storylines were getting soooo old.Sunday night also brings more of HBO's original programming. True Blood's second episode airs at 9 p.m. It's a vampires-among-us story of forbidden love and lust. I'm waiting to comment on this until after the second episode, since I wasn't completely overwhelmed by the first episode. But that might just be because I'm a huge Twilight fan and Bill Compton (the lead vampire in True Blood) is no Edward Cullen! HBO must be worried too, because they're running 2-pg. ads in major newspapers promoting it today. And Vince, Ari and the boys are back in Entourage at 10 p.m. This, I have to say, is one of my favorite shows! I love all the Hollywood stereotypes. Especially Lloyd, superagent Ari's boy-toy assistant doormat.
