Every voter crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed mayor

Well, he can't solve the gang problem, put much of a dent in urban decay or keep the school district from teetering in the brink of a state takeover, but he sure does look fine!

That's right. Trenton Mayor Doug Palmer has made Esquire magazine's list of the nation's best-dressed mayors.

He's pictured above wearing a "two-button wool suit ($1,995) by Dolce & Gabbana; cotton shirt ($490) by Domenico Vacca; and silk tie ($125) by Dunhill."

Yeah right. I'm wearing what was left over from the Red, White and Blue, sale bin on Nottingham Way. Me, a tax paying, law abiding citizen, who has lived in this city all my life.Yes, I've been reduced to this. After all the jobs have ran from the city, do to gang violence, that he and his police director can't seem to get a fix on.Where does he get all the money from? Think it's from living off the backs of our kids again? Face it, somebody knew about the Sherman Ave incident, kept quiet, got paid and we all know it. What nerve acting like some sort of male model. This is truly nothing more than an inappropriate way to continue to instill in our kids that bling is all that matters. We don't need another man in a suit, we need a man who will own up to his election promises. As it is, his hand picked idiots on the school board, can't manage to do anything but squander Abbott Funds which are used for their personal travel expenses. Another well known fact, and Palmer knew about it for years. The kids have no security, there's no money for books, teacher salaries, programs have been cut and that's the way he wants to show his face, as a sharp dressed man, pathetic. If he really wanted to show his greedy overfed fat face, he should show it as being the mayor that contributed to the rebirth of a city that was in deep trouble. For my purposes, he should be featured on American's Most Wanted, for committing the crime of indifference toward his constituents. Now that would be the picture worth seeing.

I agree with Renee. What happened to the money that should have gone to the Sherman Avenue Annex? I also agree that money was an issue in the inept and incompetent way that the school was managed. The public should check the board agenda to see how many trips the administrators and board members take at the students and taxpayers expense. From August to November the board members will travel over six times to places such as Atlanta, Nashville,Tampa,Washington, DC,Orlando,New York, Philadelphia, etc. Can you imagine how many trips they will take from December to June of 2008. Doug Palmer did not care about Sherman Avenue and he knew during the 04-05 school year that problems existed;neither did the board members because they did not want to let the money that should have gone to Sherman to interfere with their travel.
The money from Torricella is usually called a kickback. No wonder he can afford such expensive attire. He looks fat in the picture . I thought that male models look slim in photos. Doug's days are over. He is just an old married man now.

One thing the article didn't mention was his shoes. What was he wearing on his feet? Maybe they couldn't. Maybe he didn't need any? Maybe his feet are hoofed.

Palmer should get over himself. On some web site he talks about haters. No one hates him. We do not hate the player just his games.
