Pittman still in critical

Coatesville police continue to investigate the shooting and kidnapping of 33-year-old Steven Pittman on Thursday morning.

Pittman remains in critical condition and a physician-induced coma at Lancaster General Hospital, Police Chief William Matthews said Friday afternoon.

Anyone with information should call the department at 610-384-2300.

I guess when drug dealers shoot each other we should blame the police & not the dealers.

Thank you for the translation. I missed that message but, in retropect, that would seem to be what the author was trying to convey. However, having seen an episode of CSI or two, I would surmise that the bullets taken from the victims would give an indication of the origin of the guns used to kill these fine young men. Of course, AIDS can be traced back to the CIA, so I guess the police in Coatesville are actually symstematically killing the drug dealers. And I have evidence that little green men have landed in Thorndale and opened a deli serving human cold cuts.

I heard from someone on Fleetwood St. that they tied up his girlfriend and kids first and looked around the house for money before taking him away. You can never sleep soundly when you are in the drug trade. He ratted on some people a while back so it shouldn't be hard to find out who did this shooting. I think there will be more to come, this was just the "season opener" for summer.

The last I heard, there was freedome of speech. What do you mean he "ratted" on someone?

I pray for Mr. Pittman everyday, hoping that he makes a full recovery. I am originally from Coatesville (moved 31 years ago) and I will love this little city until the day that I die. I still have lots of relatives living there, but am afraid to go home to see them because I don't want to be an innocent bystander and get hurt or killed and even disrespected. I am a mother and a grandmother.

Where are the parents in these young mens' lives? Stop being your childrens' friends and be parents. I got my ass whipped almost everyday and today I appreciate it because it made me a better adult. I am a mother and a grandmother. Take hold of your sons and daughters so they can be better adults.

I know there is someone in Coatesville who has some clout to do something for these young men who want to work s and not have to sell drugs. I also know the majority of them probably do have "records" and are afraid to fill an application to a certain point (do you have any felonies?, because they think that they are not going to get hired. That is the part that gets to a lot of people who have records.

Have you ever heard of the movie "SURVIVING THE GAME". Ice Tea made it. Is this what you believe is happening in Coatesville? And if it is, go to the right authorities. Take your sons and daughters back. Be the best parent that you can be. It is called tough love.

PRAY FOR COATESVILLE, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO LIVE THERE.

I pray that God will remove this "black cloud" that covers this little city.

AND PRAY FOR STEVE PITTMAN. I PRAY THAT HE DOES NOT BECOME ANOTHER STATISTIC.

Incidentally, they only let post anonymous comments. The one before this one was posted by Iris Baxter-Jones. I will always love Coatesville and hope that one day it can be like I, as a child, remembered it as being a very happy and prosperous little City.

Does anyone have any information on Lt. Gordon's status?

Well, it's good to know that it wasn't an innocent person getting kidnapped or shot. Until Coatesville can clean up their streets, I'll be more than happy to drive miles out of my way to get to Thorndale, if it keeps me from driving through the shithole that is C'ville.

From my understanding all the people in Coatesville that have had dealings with the law are
innocent decent tax paying citizens.

Actually it was written in jest.
I just meant it seems everytime someone is arrested the next thing you hear is how they were arrested by mistake and they are innocent.

I pray for the victims and their families. I hope that this city that I once lived in has peace come their way soon. It has been far too long for all of this violence. I will continue to pray for world peace god bless.
