Communication breakdown
For some time on Monday, city police were unable to communicate using their city-issued cell phones, which double as walkie-talkies.
The cause of the problem remains unclear, but according to Police Chief William Matthews and city spokeswoman Kristin Geiger the issue has been resolved.

I understand that it wasnt only the cops phones, but the firefighters phones and some of the city hall phones as well. Now if you cant deduct from the story in the DLN that it "wasnt on Sprints end" AKA the city flat out didnt pay the bill, then you cant read. Understand its a growing trend (bills not being paid) and its not the ladies (or Rick Dean either for that matter) in the finance departments fault! SOMEONE has to approve the bills and that goes higher than Rick.
Look hard people, it should be as plain as the nose on your face - Harry the Liar & his crew are killin this city! If you havent looked hard at them yet, maybe you ought to start because its downright criminal what their up to. There true motives are NOT for the good of the city (what they claim), its for the good of lining their pockets and milkin this city for all its worth before they move on. DO THE MATH! Unless the citizens put a stop to it, itll be too late. Were already to the point we will have about ten years of catching up to do once their out. Do you want to make it longer and make it more painful? The choice is yours, just make an informed decision - LOOK HARD!
have a nice day
It's my feeling Harry Walker and the Bloc of FIVE want the city to be taken over by the state.
If the state takes over they ( THE STATE) will make them use the Water Authority Money.
Harry wants the State to look like they're the BAD GUYS. Then he'll take over after the state frees up the Water Authority money for use on a day to day basis!!
The clock is still ticking, only 4 months to go until the RDA loan HAS to be repaid. It takes 3 months to go to settlement on a large commercial property sale. Are they going to make it in time or will they need to rob the water authority fund to pay off the loan? it doesn't look good so far. I talked to an out of town person that came to the city for 6 months and he said it seems like there is a "force" that is keeping the city down like it is. I said that it must be true if he could notice that in such a short time here. How sad.
I see there was no artice or blogspot for the Comcast Cares Day where about 100-200 people came out to help clean up the streets
Yeah I was looking for coverage of the clean up day too as I KNOW some folks came out to help since it was a nice day. Just goes to show that a lot of the positive things that happen in C-ville never get covered in the newspaper!
I also heard turnout for the clean up was good. We had a photographer shoot some pictures, which I'm told will be published.
Space was tight this weekend after we picked up the AP's coverage of the Philadelphia Police officer who was murdered.
So it was not the Daily Local ignoring positive things happening in Coatesville, remember the "Make Coatesville beautiful" post on April 14. It was a business decision -- as in, our business is to sell papers so we can continue to cover Coatesville and the rest of Chester County.
I hear the Nextels were on and off for more than two days.
The City is trying to cover up that they didn't pay the bill.
Walker is trying to trap Dean.
Dean prepares the checks, But Walker must sign them before they're sent out.
Geiger is part of the cover up !!
Hey Jon!
Im glad the "Make Coatesville Beautiful" Day went well. And Im sure glad Walker and his assistant got some more community service time in to take care of those DUI charges. Why do you think theyre having these events???? So Walker & Co can work off thier community service time!!!! No other reason. Its sad when they disguise their REAL reasons for doing what they do with lies and rhetoric. PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE
