A Little News from the Atlanta Wives

Atlanta Pictures, Images and Photos

Had to pass on this little snippet the New York Post's Page Six reported yesterday ...

Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta are still making waves in the entertainment industry. Last month, trouble-maker NeNe Leakes was unceremoniously booted from her home mid rumors of failing to pay her rent. NeNe replied that she and her hubby left on their own for better digs.

Sheree Whitfield Pictures, Images and Photos

Sheree Whitfield

Now comes news that the other mega-biotch of the show, Sheree Whitfield will be debuting her clothing line at NYC Fashion Week in February. Whitfield, who divorced former New York Giant Bob Whitfield last year, will unveil her She by Sheree line, which had some problems during last season's show. The basic cost of putting on a fashion show is at least $50,000, which could explain why Sheree is taking her ex back to court, claiming the $1 million he gave her in the divorce was not enough!

Maybe her BFF Kim could get Big Poppa to cut her some slack and fund the venture!

Top Chef recap, other news

top chef Pictures, Images and Photos
Last night’s Top Chef was ruined for me when Kathie Lee Gifford showed up!!! AAAHHHH! I can’t stand that woman!
Fortunately it wasn’t until near the end, so I got to enjoy the first 40 minutes or so.The chefs were tasked to createa breakfrast amuse-bouche for the Quick Fire Challenge, which was judged by Padma and celebrity chef Rocci DiSpirito (Fabio’s a big fan – no, not that Fabio, the contestant on Top Chef, whose quickly become the fan fave).
Amuse-Bouche – another on of those cool terms I’ve picked up watching this show. It refers to a culinary bite-sized starter (appetizer per se). Some chefs had trouble limiting their offerings to bite-size while others hit the mark perfectly. Leah was chosen the winner, gaining immunity for the Elimination Challenge.
This week’s Elimination Challenged gave the chefs $100 and 30 minutes to shop for ingredients to come up with a 2 ½ minute television presentation creating an original dish.
Fabio went right for the tuna and asked to cut it himself. Eugene and Hosea followed suit cutting their own fish. Eugene for sushi and Hosea for a tuna dish. Melissa, Leah and Jeff went for shrimp. Jamie and Ariane went for salads (salads? Usually the kiss of death on this show). Jamie a frise salad and Ariane a beef steak salad.

Daniel conjured up a ginger soy steak. Leah chose to sear some duck, while Carla and Stefan decided to dish out some soup (tortilla and minestrone, respectively. Alex was the lone holdout for some dessert – choosing to make crème brulee. Fabio immediately thought this was a mistake, due to the time constrictions (they were only given one hour to prepare).
All chefs got an opportunity to make a live presentation for the judges, who were amused when Daniel smoked out the studio. Disappoints wer Jamie, Leah, Alex and Carla, while judges were impressed with Fabio, whom Rocco called “A dream guest,” and Ariane, whose presentation was “perfect.”
Melissa, Alex and Jamie made the bottom three, while Ariane, Fabio and Jeff were chosen to go to the Today Show and present their dishes to the female hosts. This is where Kathie Lee showed up – Ugghh! – and proceeded to spit out Jeff’s shrimp dish. Kathie Lee, as usual, always has to be the center of attention.
In the end, the Top Chef judges chose Ariane as the winner and she received Rocco’s book and some culinary tools. She also got to do a segment on this morning’s Today Show, but I forgot to watch, anybody else see it? I’m sure we can find it on Youtube.
As foretold by Fabio, Alex’s crème brulee proved to be his undoing and he was sent to pack his knives and go … now he can devote all his time to his upcoming wedding. Good luck Alex.Just wanted to add that I’m totally luvin’ Fabio!! He’s definitely the break-out star of the group so far. What do you think? Who’s your fave?
Top Chef repeats tonight on Bravo at 8 p.m.Next week the contestants get to cook for judge Gail Simmon’s bridal shower.

Tonight on CBS at 8 p.m. is an all new episode of Survivor: Gabon! And from the looks of the previews, this is the episode where the family members are brought in. It's getting pretty nasty, can't wait to watch!

And WTH is going on over at Seattle Grace? Find out tonight at 9 on ABC with a new ep of Grey’s Anatomy. According to show creator Shonda Rimes, the Izzy-Denny storyline is leading to a conclusion we’ll never see coming, and it doesn’t involve Denny being there to take Izzy to the other side (remember, Denny a ghost, he died 2 seasons ago). Personally, I hope they keep him around awhile, I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan and have really enjoyed his return, no matter how ridiculous …

JD Morgan, nice

After Grey’s, at 10 p.m. stay tuned to find out who Barbara Walters finds the Most Fascinating People of 2009. Guests will include Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Sarah Palin, Tina Fey, Miley Cyrus, Thomas Beatie and Frank Langella. At the end of the show, she’ll reveal who the No. 1 Most Fascinating Person is …. I’d put my money on Barack Obama, an easy guess.

In Other News: According to today’s NY Post, Real Housewife of Atlanta and troublemaker NeNe Leakes and her husband Gregory have been evicted from the five-bedroom house they were living in when the show was being made. The couple is said to owe more than $6,200 in back rent from an owner who lived overseas, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. When asked by the paper where she was living now, NeNe replied via email: “It’s none of your business.”

The Office has been granted that oh-so-important spot after the Superbowl on NBC Feb. 1.

Showtime has renewed David Duchovny’s hysterical Californication for a third season. You can expect it in late 2009.

And totally off the TV topic, but I have to give a shout out – J.K. Rowling, the creator of Harry Potter and the richest woman in the UK, is releasing a new book today.
Beedle The Bard Pictures, Images and Photos
“Tales of Beedle the Bard” hits the bookshelves with raving applause. It’s a book of tales from the wizarding world, including “The Tale of the Three Brothers,” which figured prominently in Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, the final book in the best-selling book series in the world (over 400 million copies in 67 languages).
I’ll be picking up a copy!

Housewives Get Catty, Top Chef Tonight, Twilight News

Sorry everybody, no time for frills today! Wanted to blog more about last week's Top Chef, but there just wasn't time. No time for photos or proofreading either, so please forgive.

The fur really flew last night on Bravo during the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion. And I loved it!
Let’s see, where to begin … the host stared off with a bang, stating that they received an overwhelming number of emails from viewers who don’t believe that blonde babe Kim isn’t really 29. She says she’s 30 now.
Next it was revealed that CNN’s Anderson Cooper loves loudmouth NeNe.
Who responded with much love for Anderson. Viewers also emailed over NeNe’s “saggy boobs,” saying she should dress more appropriately. And NeNe confirmed that she hasn’t been in touch with Curtis (who she believed was her father), since the paternity test resolved that he wasn’t.
After being asked the identity of Big Poppa, Kim revealed that he’s legally married and seeking a divorce. Which really set NeNe off! Calling Kim a liar and saying, “close your legs to married men!”
Kim replied with “grow up and you’d better back your ass up!”
Lots of bleeped cursing followed with NeNe boasting Kim’s a “trashy hooker” and wears a wig. Lisa climbed onto NeNe’s lap to keep her from getting up.
The host, looking nervous, took the show into commercial. After the break, he asked Kim if she was wearing a wig. To which she replied, that 3 years ago she found out that she got sick and found out she had cancer. NeNe apologized, saying she didn’t know about the cancer. About a minute later, Kim said she didn’t have cancer, that it was something else she didn’t want to talk about it. (It still wasn’t confirmed she wears a wig, but I can totally see it now.)
Following brief summaries of Sheree, DeShawn and Lisa, the show got back to the battle between Kim and NeNe, with the host bringing up NeNe’s song about Kim. I don’t remember what Kim said, but Lisa totally flew off the handle, calling Kim a “liar who needs medication.”
Then when Kim responded, Lisa said, “You don’t want to start with me, I’ll flip you over that couch!”
The show closed on an up note with the addition of NeNe’s gay boyfriend Dwight, who brought some all too needed comic relief. The show will repeat numerous times over the weekend. Check it out! Or you can watch it here http://www.bravotv.com/ Real_Housewives_Of_Atlanta/season/1/index.php

The Foo Fighters stop by Top Chef tonight on Bravo at 10.
Last week’s episode concluded with Fabio winning with his spericle olives, and Jill going home from making a bad quiche from Ostrich eggs. Sorry, there wasn’t time to post more ..

And to all my Twilight fans out there, don’t miss The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight. Robert Pattinson, aka Edward Cullen, stops by to spend some time on the couch.
Summit Entertainment has announced the Twilight's sequel, New Moon, will begin filming in March (hopefully with a November release date).

Top Chef Preview, Australia Spoiler

top chef Pictures, Images and Photos
Tonight's the night! Pack your knives and get ready for Top Chef Season 5 at 10 p.m. on Bravo. The show repeats immediately afterwards at 11:15 p.m. So do the math ... the premiere is actually an hour and 15 minutes, just in case you're taping, I wouldn't want you to miss to ending.

So here's what I've been able to find out about tonight's episode. As I stated before, Top Chef will be set in none other than New York City this season, which should make things interesting since NYC has per capita the greatest gathering of "top chefs" in just about the whole world (maybe eclipsed only by Paris, I think).
Tonight, 17 new chef contestants will descend on the Big Apple to test their culinary skills and compete for a chance at $100,000 and other prizes, including a feature in Food & Wine magazine and the honor of being named Top Chef!
Top Chef Pictures, Images and Photos
Tom, Gail & Padma -- Judges Table awaits
Joining the contestants will be judges Tom Colicchio, chef/owner of the Craft Restaurants, Gail Simmons of Food & Wine magazine, hostess/actress/cookbook author/elfman fave Padma Lakshmi and brand new judge Toby Young, food critic and author of "How to Lose Friends and Alienate People." Young also fills the void for a cranky, wise-cracking Englishman (a la Simon Cowell). But don't look for him on tonight's episode, guest judge will be none other than Jean-George Vongerichten, probably the biggest chef in this city of big chefs! If you haven't heard of him - google it! You'll be amazed. I'm surprised he hasn't been to QVC yet to hawk culinary items like Wolfgang Puck (another chef I'd love to see guest here).
Top Chef Pictures, Images and Photos
How's this pic Elfman?
Top Chef has always been a step above Fox's Hell's Kitchen, although I would absolutely LOVE to see Gordon Ramsay guest judge on this show. While Hell's Kitchen is all about the drama (and where do they get their "chefs"), Top Chef is more about the talent and the food - ooohh the food!! I've actually learned a thing or to about cooking and especially culinary language while watching this show.
And if you're a fan of Project Runway, you'll love Top Chef. It's essentially the same show, just swap the clothing for well-prepared culinary delights! It's the ultimate cooking show for those of you who enjoy the Food Network!
Top Chef 5
Season 5 Chefs
OK, back to tonight's episode. Among the 17 contestants are a man from Italy and a guy from Scandanavia, a couple of Long Island/Queens guys, a woman from Georgia and a handsome guy from Miami. Also figure the usual tattooed-guy from Hawaii, an American woman with parents from India, the requisite student from the CIA (Culinary Institute of America, not the other one), another overbearing gay guy and the usual suspects.
Tonight's challenge has thechefs each pick a knife with a region of the city written across it i.e. Little Italy, Little India, Chinatown, Astoria, Brighton Beach, etc. The chefs are taken to those particular areas where they must shop for ingredients and then make an authentic-tasting dish for that area. Since some of the new chefs have never come across the cuisine chosen for them, it'll be interesting to see what they come up with!
Marcel Top Chef Pictures, Images and Photos
Who will be this season's Marcel?
When last heard from, Marcel was journeying to Modor to throw the ring into the fires of Mt. Doom -- I miss Marcel!
Tune in tonight! For more info visit http://www.bravotv.com/Top_Chef/season/5/best_of/index.php

Other than my biker boys on FX (Sons of Anarchy) at 10 p.m., the only other thing interesting me tonight is PBS' premiere episode of its new series Monarchy: The Royal Family at Work. However, tonight's show looks like it's mainly dealing with the Queen's stateside visit from last year, and most of the footage looks like what I've already seen on last spring's 20/20 special. I'll be looking forward to future installments!

About Last Night: Apparently I missed the big fight over on The Biggest Loser: Families edition. Since I haven't been watching, I don't know the contestants names, but there was a big blow up between players, followed by an even bigger upset!
You and I can catch up at http://www.nbc.com/The_Biggest_Loser/

Housewives of Atlanta Pictures, Images and Photos
Lisa, Sheree, NeNe, DeShawn & Kim
I did, however, thoroughly enjoy all the controversy over on Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta. The girls showed up earlier last night over on Extra, where Sheree, NeNe (who looked like they've made up) and DeShawn were plugging tonight's ep, featuring male models stripping for Sheree's fashion debut. NeNe also took the time to flirt-up Extra host Mario Lopez, and admitted that looking at the show on TV, she wishes she could've said some things differently, "but you can't take it back now."
Anyway, here's a quick run-down: Lisa's pro-football player hubby finished his achilles rehab and signed with the Oakland Raiders. Sheree's samples for her fashion debut were poorly made, leaving her with nothing for the debut, but she had the party anyway. Kim and Sheree boycotted the barbeque Deshawn arranged to get them to make up with NeNe. NeNe held her Big Hat Brunch fund-raiser to kick off her charity for abused women (it was worth watching just for the big hats!). NeNe and her "gay boyfriend" Dwight got pedicures and dissed Sheree's party, with Dwight saying "How can you have a fashion show without fashion? Kharma's a bitch!"
And talking about Kharma, NeNe found out that Curtis (whom she thought was her father from birth) isn't her biological father.
And boy-oh-boy, it looks like the s-t really hits the fan next week.

In other news: While Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman were busy plugging their new big screen epic Australia on Oprah Monday, word was hitting the Internet (
www.ropeofsilicon.com) that 20th Century Fox studio execs made director Baz Luhrmann change the ending at the last minute. Of course, that was followed shortly by a statement that Baz Luhrmann has final cut and the movie is just as he wanted it. Right.
You can visit the official movie site at http://www.australiamovie.com/

SPOILER ALERT: If you don't want to know, don't read past the photo!!
Australia Movie Pictures, Images and Photos

It seems they weren't happy with the sad ending Luhrmann had originally filmed, which had Jackman's character dying. They didn't want a Titanic-ending (now I've just ruined Titanic for you too) and insisted Baz change it to a happier one, thus having Jackman survive. And if you couldn't resist reading this, now you don't have to go see it. Tada!

Election Post-Partum, Twilight Week, Top Chef Coming Soon!

Hi everyone, sorry about yesterday, I was home sick. Sick of election coverage (just kidding). And so we say farewell to a 2 1/2 year election campaign, whatever will we do now? I have only one thing to say - Bow to the Power of Oprah!!
Obama-Oprah Pictures, Images and Photos

Let's get back to mindless TV viewing shall we?
The only thing I watched other than election coverage last night was Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta. Hey, I needed something light to loosen up, OK? And the be-otches were in full form last night! It seems that a drunken NeNe got in a limo and spouted off some song she made up about Kim and her "singing" career, and oh-no-she-didn't, Sheree told Kim all about it. NeNe had the gaul to say that Kim's only singing because Big Papa's paying for it (I know, who'd have thunk it).
Things went back and forth as they do, and by the end of the episode, Kim had texted NeNe and told her to "never call her again." (oh no, not that!) It looks like the shenanigans continue well into next week's ep. To watch or for info visit http://www.bravotv.com/Real_Housewives_Of_Atlanta/season/1/index.php

On TV Tonight: I know it's sweeps, but there really isn't too much out interesting me on Wednesday night. I'm giving up Lipstick Jungle, just can't get excited about that one any more.
Private Practice seems to be in ratings trouble, so if you're a fan, start watching!
Dancing with the Stars results show was pushed back to tonight at 8 p.m. due to the election. And CBS offers up its usual line-up of cops and law dramas with new eps of Criminal Minds and CSI: NY.
Dirty Sexy Money will air a new show tonight, so if you were one of the unfortunate that missed last week's ep because of the World Series win, better hit the ABC website and catch up.
http://abc.go.com/primetime/dirtysexymoney/index?pn=index

I'll be watching FX's Sons of Anarchy, which has to be getting to the end of its season soon. It premiered back in August afterall. I'll miss it when it goes, however, last week there was a nice little teaser for Nip/Tuck, which finishes season 8 sometime in January.
And I think there's a new ep of South Park on at 10 p.m. on Comedy Central. Couldn't find any preview info though. http://www.southparkstudios.com/

Twilight Pictures, Images and Photos
Twilight Alert: OK gals, set your DVRs, The Insider syndicated entertainment show has proclaimed it Twilight Week and will air a special interview with Robert Pattinson tonight.
For those of you who've been living under a rock, Pattinson is the 22-year-old British actor who will bring vampire Edward Cullen to life on the big screen Nov. 21. For a look at Monday's Twilight moment, visit
And speaking of Pattinson, he'll be making an appearance over on MTV's TRL tomorrow (Thursday), that you won't want to miss.
Yeah, just another excuse for me to post hot vampire photos ...

And speaking of the World Series, Game 5 Conclusion (Wednesday) came in at the top of the Nielsens rating list at 19.84 million viewers, followed by CSI (Las Vegas) with a neat 19.1 million.
Dancing with the Stars two shows came in at 3 and 4, while NCIS topped out the Top 5.
The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror packed in 12.4 million viewers making it the show's best ratings in five years and one of the most watched programs Sunday night (16th).

Brooke Smith Grey's Anatomy Pictures, Images and Photos
Erica Hahn checks out of Seattle Grace
In news I'm proud to pass on: Shonda Rhimes finally wised up and is ending the lesbian relationship between Erica and Callie on Grey's Anatomy (not that there's anything wrong with that!). Brooke Smith, who portrays Erica Hahn, will make her final appearance on tomorrow night's episode. According to Rhimes, the show's creator, Smith's character simply did not have good chemistry with her co-stars. Hmmm, maybe I'll start watching again. http://abc.go.com/primetime/greysanatomy/index?pn=index

And Simon Cowell has been dumped! The NY Post reports today that his girlfriend of six years, Extra contributor Terri Seymour has said good-bye to the American Idol meanie. It seems that those cross-Atlantic intercontinental relationships just don't work out.

By the way - just one more week until Top Chef returns! Yay - Tom Colicchio!

Rock of Love Charm School why? and other news

Rock of Love Charm School
Charm School Girls

Ok, I'm gonna try to keep it short and sweet today, wish me luck.Last night, I caught up on VH1's latest skankfest Rock of Love Charm School (originally aired Sunday at 9 pm, but will undoubtedly repeat all week). This show is a carbon copy of last year's Flava of Love Charm School, changing out Monique as hostess, for Sharon Osbourne.
And instead of the "ladies" from Flava of Love, this one features the "ladies" of Brett Michael's Rock of Love. Fourteen of the worst of the worst from Rock's two seasons gathered at some mansion in Los Angeles to battle it out charm school-style for a chance at winning $100,000 (yeah, that's about $60,00 after taxes - it's not gonna go as far as they're hoping). Of course, one can't deny that the publicity one gets from this show won't help (hurt) a career ...
In either case, it's up to Sharon to turn these sorry subjects into "ladies." Good Luck!
All the faves are back: Raven, Jessica, Kristy Jo, Destiny, Rodeo, superdrunk Courtney (she passed out the first day on Rock of Love and did it again last night), Brandi C., Brandi M., Angelique, Megan, Dallas and yes, season one runner-up Heather (who "loved" Brett so much she actually got his name tattooed on the back of her neck).
I've already written too much regarding this mess. But, just to let you know, at the end of every excruciating episode, one contestant will be expelled from Charm School and last night it was the aforementioned drunk Courtney. Hey, at least Sharon arranged for her to go to rehab!
Don't waste your time. It was really bad ...But just in case you don't want to heed my warning, you can check it out at http://blog.vh1.com/2008-09-08/the-charm-school-rock-of-love-girls-cast-the-first-season-ladies/

Over on ABC at 10 pm, Denny Crane continued his hilarious shenanigans on Boston Legal. Who'd ever thought that William Shatner could be so funny and entertaining! He totally makes the show, along with James Spader.
Spader, who started out his career playing the worst teen villians in John Hughes' movies, is the last person I would've thought I would like. But, hey, if I'm ever accused of a crime, I totally want his Alan Shore to defend me!
Don't miss the opportunity to catch this fine show while it enjoys its last season. For info visit http://www.abc.go.com/primetime/bostonlegal/index?pn=index

So, moving on to tonight: It's the return of Fox's superhit Fringe! I found myself really missing this show last week (it wasn't on due to the debate). Tonight's episode finds dangerous and deadly occurrences following a man who has the ability to harness electricity. Dr. Bishop (the superb John Noble) enlists homing pigeons to help him break the case. Fringe starts at 9 pm. For info or to watch previous eps visit
http://www.fox.com/fringe/

Over on CBS at the same time, Aussie hunk Simon Baker stars in the second ep of the new hit The Mentalist - When a high school girl's body washes up on the beach, CBI investigator Patrick Jane (Baker) sets a trap to get a group of surfers to turn on one another and reveal what really happened.
I haven't checked out this one yet, but coworkers enjoyed last week's show. For info visit
http://www.cbs.com/primetime/the_mentalist/

Real Wives of Atlanta
The "Real" Housewives

At 9 pm Bravo will bring the rich biches back - I mean, The Real Housewives of Atlanta - for their second episode. I have to admit, this is my kind of reality TV. You just have to marvel at the way these broads can spend money! And, of course, money doesn't buy happiness, as is well illustrated on this show! Check it out http://www.bravotv.com/Real_Housewives_Of_Atlanta/season/1/index.php

Following at 10 pm is the season finale of The Rachel Zoe Project. This show just caught my attention about two weeks on the recommendation of a coworker and I love it! It's ending way too soon for me. Rachel Zoe is a "celebrity stylist" and spends most of her time running all over the world (she's based in LA), finding the "hero" dress that some big star needs to wear to some awards show, or even for a whole press tour.
Tonight it looks like Rachel may have to fire one of her assistants! Will is be mean girl Taylor or nice guy Brad? My vote's for Taylor, she's really been making things difficult for Brad lately, and he's always stepped up to the challenge. Of course, probably no one will get fired, it was just a ploy to make us all watch!
For info visit http://www.bravotv.com/The_Rachel_Zoe_Project/season/1//index.php

For those of you who asked yesterday, CMT will be rebroadcasting last weekend's episode of My Big Fat Redneck Wedding tonight at 10:30 pm. Enjoy the wacky redneck nuptials of Jeanne and Phil (refer to yesterday's post for more info). Just prior from 9-10:30 CMT is airing the first two episodes of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders: Making the Team. A fine show that both guys and girls can enjoy - for totally different reasons, you'll see what I mean.
Visit http://www.cmt.com/ for information on either show.
Jeanne & Phil tying the knot

And for the hopeless romantic (girls, you know who I mean), E! presents a favorite tonight at 8 pm. Sandra Bullock stars in Hope Floats, as a jilted wife who moves back home with her mother, and is courted by an old boyfriend ... and if you've seen this one, you know who I mean - Justin Matisse, played breathlessly by the gorgeous Harry Connick Jr.
If you haven't seen this one, drop everything and watch it - ladies, you won't be sorry. And if Justin's just not enough, tune in to Late Night with Conan O'Brien on NBC at 12:35 am, where Harry will be promoting his new Lifetime movie Living Proof, premiering Saturday night at 9 pm.
Dreamy Harry Connick Jr.

For the football crowd, get your fix on FX at 7:30 pm with Invincible, the gridiron saga of Vince Papale (Mark Wahlberg), a 30-year-old sandlot player who earned a spot on the 1976 Philadelphia Eagles. I've seen it, and I recommend it. Enjoy.

Of course, you can always go out and rent/buy Memorial Day Weekend 2008 blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, out today! I know a lot of people have issues with this one (not to mention what the creators of South Park did last week), but I enjoyed it. It's always nice to see Indy in action again ...

I know I said short and sweet, but just a little news ... Terrence Howard is officially out for the Iron Man sequel. He's already been replaced by Don Cheadle as Jim Rhodes, Tony Stark's best friend and future armor-clad hero War Machine.
According to RopeofSilicon.com, sources close to the deal with Howard say negotiations fell through over financial differences. Careful Terrence, you may be sorry ...
Handsome Howard

And last, Marcia, Marcia, Marcia, what were you thinking? I'm talking about the tell-all book coming out today by former Brady Bunch star Maureen McCormick. As usual, with "celebrity bios," something scandalous must always be revealed - I mean, why would we want to read it if there wasn't something juicy being offered (remember Barbara Walters scandalous affair with a gentleman of color?).
maureen mccormick Pictures, Images and Photos
Anyway, McCormick apparently describes a teen life of debauchery that includes romancing her TV brother Barry "Greg" Williams (who also admits to dating TV mom Florence Henderson for God's sakes), dates with Michael Jackson and Steve Martin (Steve, who knew?), hitting wild Hollywood parties at the Playboy mansion and the home of Sammy Davis Jr., cocaine binges, trading sexual favors for drugs that lead to unwanted pregnancies, and blowing an interview with Steven Spielberg because she was high. Need I go on?
Not enough to get me to read it, but just in case you're interested, "Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice" hits bookstores today.

Short and sweet, I'll keep trying ...

Prison Break, Amazing Race recaps, Tuesday TV

Prison Break's Michael & Linc
For reasons that I can't explain, I'm still watching Prison Break Monday nights on Fox.
Maybe it's because there's just nothing else on, however, I'm sure I would be better off watching Two and a Half Men over on CBS. Anyway, Season 4, Episode 7, "Five the Hard Way" played out like much every episode prior. The escaped convicts are still trying to find the remaining versions of Scylla (The Company's little black book) for the FBI. If they fail, of course, they are all going back to jail. So each week, the episode starts out with hope, only to drag along the way, mishap after mishap, until the viewers end up waiting till the next week, hoping that something will actually be accomplished.
And I knew this from the first episode - it was all set up that finding all the components to complete Scylla would take all season long. Why do we care - we don't even have any idea what this thing does?
Along the way, PB's best character, the infamous T-Bag is thrown into the mix to try to keep things interesting - oh and did I mention that Gretchen's back? Even having Sucre "take one for the team" this week by pretending to be gay and trying to seduce some guy named Scuderi in Las Vegas for a chance to get his version of Scylla wasn't enough to make it interesting ...To watch or just get a quick written recap, visit http://www.fox.com/prisonbreak/

Over on ABC, Misty May-Treanor confirmed that she's out for the season on Dancing with the Stars, taking beautiful partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy with her :( Misty apparently ruptured her left Achilles tendon while practicing the Jive on Friday. But at least they didn't bring back trainwreck Kim Kardashian to take her place, which leads me to believe that at the end of tonight's results show (9 p.m.) the judges will not send anybody home.

Misty & Maksim

Before Prison Break, I got a chance to catch up on the full episode from Sunday of CBS' Amazing Race. Only two episodes in and I still love this show! The cat fighting is just starting between the teams and an alliance has already formed between newly dating Terrence and Sarah and separated Ken and Tina. The action picked up where last week left off in Salvador, Brazil, where teams started off exactly 12 hours after they finished the day before. Given their first clue, all teams had to travel to Fortaleza, Brazil, where they completed a Detour by either Beach It or Docket. All but one team, best friends, Mark and Bill, chose to Beach It, with divorcees Kelly and Christy showing off their brains, by combining tasks of both challenges and totally missing the point.

Kelly & Christy
Then, after claiming that they learned from this task that it was important to "read the whole clue," they went on to the Roadblock and let their taxi go. The clue specifically said to make sure your taxi waited ...
Mother/Son team Toni and Dallas showed their true colors when they stopped to help a stranded Sarah and Terrence find their taxi. And Mark and Bill lost first place to Ken and Tina in a foot race to the Pit Stop, leading to the remark, "I'm so glad it's come down to a foot race between us and a former pro football player."

Bye-Bye Anthony & Stephanie
Dating couple Anthony and Stephanie were the last team to arrive and host Phil Koeghan delivered the news, "I'm sorry but you've been eliminated from the Race."For more info visit http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/

Although I mentioned watching HBO's vampire drama True Blood yesterday, I didn't take the time to comment. Maybe that's because there wasn't much to comment on. After a promising episode last week, featuring the vampire's leader, the ethereal Eric, this week's drama centered on vampire Bill addressing the "Descendents of the Glorious Dead" meeting at the local church.
Yeah, it was pretty boring. However, by the end, we at least got to see how Bill, himself, was turned into a vampire during the Civil War. To watch or read a recap, visit

True Blood's Bill and Sookie

And speaking of vampire dramas, Moonlight, last season's short-lived vampire-detective drama will be released on DVD Jan. 20. The package will include all 16 episodes. Visit http://www.cbs.com/primetime/moonlight/

Cast of Moonlight

Of course, I can't mention vampires without mentioning the much-anticipated film version of the wildly popular Twilight saga. A new trailer for the film, featuring the hottest vampire ever to walk undead among us (Edward Cullen), debuts in theaters this weekend, and should be available on the Internet Thursday night. Tonight TV offers up yet another Presidential Debate (on all the major networks). This time the candidates will be discussing their platforms at Belmont University in Nashville. Enjoy ...

I will be tuning into Bravo at 9 p.m. for the season premiere of the latest in their Real Housewives series ... this time the money-grubbing, so-so fabulous vixens are in Atlanta, Georgia. Described by the NY Post's critic Linda Stasi as "the most sexist, demeaning depiction of women on TV," she goes on to say that this latest incarnation "dives to new depths." - LOVE IT!
I can't stop watching these shallow, guilt-less, broads in whichever way Bravo deems to depict them. And having seen the preview which aired over the summer, this should be interesting ...
Let's see, first we have DeShawn Snow, whose husband, Eric, is a former Philly 76er, who's now caption of the Cleveland Cavaliers. They recently moved to the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta, Ga., and into a house that's been decorated without her input.
Then there's Kim Zolciak, a self-described "black woman trapped in a white body," who lives in an exclusive gated townshouse community in Duluth, Ga. The mother of two is currently recording an album and gets all her cash from a man she calls "Big Poppa." (BP doesn't want to appear on the show, hence we never actually see him -- smart man.)
Next is Lisa Wu Hartwell. She's actually a savvy businesswoman and easily the most likable of the women. She is married to NFL player Ed and has a real estate firm, clothing lines and models. What she's doing on this show is a mystery to me - Run Lisa, while you still can.
Then there's rivals NeNe Leakes and Sheree Whitfield. NeNe is married to a real estate mogul and spends the show constantly talking about herself and how "classy" she is. She is a very active member of Atlanta society. Sheree is actually not a housewife. She's in the midst of a nasty divorce and isn't giving up until she gets what she deserves ... it remains to be see what that actually will be (be careful what you wish for Sheree). The premiere ep revolves around her birthday party "that is the talk of Atlanta!"For more info visit http://www.bravotv.com/Real_Housewives_Of_Atlanta/season/1/about/index.php

My new favorite show isn't on tonight because of the debate, but Fringe will be back next week and thereafter since Fox has officially ordered a full season of 22 episodes!

For those of you, like me, who haven't watched the Sci-Fi channel's latest series yet, an encore of the 2-hr. premiere of Sanctuary will start at 7 p.m. tonight.

And over on FX you can watch the prequel to the biggest movie of 2008 The Dark Knight. The excellent Batman Begins begins at 7 p.m.

The Biggest Loser: Families contestants continue dropping the pounds prior to the debate at 8 p.m. on NBC. And speaking of Biggest Loser, former winner David Fioravanti has been indicted for allegedly trying to scam insurance companies by repeatedly taking out expensive policies on jewelry before and after reporting it stolen. He faces seven counts of insurance fraud and attempted larceny according to the Boston Herald. A poor loser indeed.

Out on DVD today: M. Night Shymalan's latest, The Happening, starring Mark Wahlberg, is on my agenda for tonight. The premise of this sci-fi flick (which sounds an awful lot like Stephen King's The Mist) and the fact that it was partially filmed in our area, wasn't enough to get me to theater to see it.

Adam Sandler's summer yawn You Don't Mess with the Zohan also bows on DVD today. I'll let you know ...

And Disney's classic Sleeping Beauty makes its Blue-Ray D debut today. Filmed 50 years ago, Sleeping Beauty is the company's first Platinum Edition title to release in the new format. I don't have a Blue-Ray player, so I really can't compare the difference between this and DVD. What do you think?
