Hero Day

A resolution declaring May 29 to be Hero Day, when the annual Hero Bowl all-star high school football game will be played, was presented by Delaware County Councilman Thomas J. McGarrigle (center), to County Detective Robert T. Lythgoe (left), Chairman of the 2008 Hero Bowl and President of the Delaware County Hero Scholarship Fund, and former County Councilman John J. McFadden (right), a member of the Hero Fund board of directors.
The game which pits the best Delaware County high school seniors in a benefit game for the Hero Scholarship Fund, will begin at 7:30 PM. Thursday, May 29, at Widener University, Chester. Admission is $5 with tickets available at all Commerce Bank branches in the county as well as at the gate the night of the game. The Hero Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for the children of police, firefighters and emergency medical personnel who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
