Ah, blogging. Here's my little corner of it all -- in West Chester, and well, from wherever on whatever. I'll let you know what I'm thinking and you can let me know what you're thinking. But remember, I can delete your posts.

Love These Guys

I'm not big on advertising shows at venues I'm not really affiliated with but Adam & Dave's Bloodline are great guys and have music that hasn't left the CD player in my car in quite a long time. Everyone should go check them out. They're playing at the Note on Nov. 8.

Comments

I have deleted my first comment here. I am in no way affiliated with anyone or anything political and I don't cover politics. This isn't the forum to push anyone's agenda. It's an open forum for anything else in Chester County or the region -- see a ghost? Tell me about it. Eat a taco? Share away. If it involves going to a polling place, stick it on someone else's blog. Yes, this is a newspaper and there are other outlets offered.

A Follow Up

So I mentioned before my friend's bike was stolen over the summer. Well, he saw it and stole it back. Score one for humanity or opportunism. Either way, bike thieves suck.

A Great Cause

For Jack : a Tribute To the Music of Christopher Tucker

On Friday October 17th, the collective music scene of Philadelphia
and Delaware will gather at the North Star Bar in Philadelphia to
remember the life and music of Christopher Tucker in benefit of his
son Jack Tucker. A $10 minimum donation will be requested at the
door, advance tickets are now available via
http://www.northstarbar.com and http://www.ticketweb.com, please note
that this event is for those 21 years of age and older only please.

The North Star Bar is located at 2639 Poplar Street in the Fairmont
neighborhood of Philadelphia.

On Friday, July 25th Christopher Michael Tucker, lead singer of local
Philadelphia and Delaware based bands including The Verge, The
Situation, Meme, and Orphan Family, passed away. Christopher’s
death has left a void in the Philadelphia music scene, but more
importantly it has left his 5 year old son Jack, without a father. On
Friday October 17th six area bands will gather at the North Star in an
attempt to fill that musical void, and to raise money for the estate
of Christopher Tucker to directly benefit Chris’ only child,
Jack.

A special video will also be screened for the first time at the
event. Just a week before his passing, Chris recorded his last song
and created a video for it as well with local artist Nico. The video
was to be completed as a concept in two parts, however only the first
part was completed, that first part will be screened and will allow
fans of Chris to hear new music from Chris one more time.

There will also be a silent auction which will be organized by Girl
About Town, http://www.phillygirlabouttown.com, a local music blog
that frequently reviewed Chris’ music and was a close friend of
him personally as well. For information on the Silent Auction, and to
donate items, please contact Royce Epstein or Carly Marcoux, at
Royce@phillygirlabouttown.com
or carly@phillygirlabouttown.com
.

This event will be a joyful celebration of the life and music of
Christopher Tucker in benefit of his son Jack Tucker. Please join us
at the North Star Bar for this very special night.

Got Rolaids?

It was quite a busy weekend here in Chester County. The kind that heartburn is made from. Saturday afternoon some friends and I took in the Kennett Brewfest. All I can really say is I think we hit around 30 of the 50 brewers (time got in the way) and at some point the day really just became an endurance test. And we were very ambitious. We did Victory for dinner. I don't think a brewfest should ever be followed by a trip to Victory. The beers there go unnoticed. And before anyone asks, we had designated drivers.

Sunday was the West Chester Rotary Chili cook off. Although it was fun walking around sampling chili, the funny thing about chili that I noticed is that for the most part, after your third sample, it starts to taste the same. But fun nontheless.

Both of these led to the aforementioned heartburn and last night Rolaids were dessert. Fun times though.
